As many of you are aware Sam (dr_drift) is coming down next weekend to tune some cars. This is happening at JDS Auto Imports in Harrington Street in the city all weekend. On the Sunday JDS, along with Sam, will be holding a dyno competition for anyone that would like to enter.

COST: $50

WHEN: Sunday 18th Feb from 10 onwards (thats this Sunday  )

WHERE: JDS Auto imports on Harrington Street.

The competition will be calculated in power per litres, so if a 2L engine makes 100HP and a 4L engine makes 200HP that would be a tie.

There will be prizes for the winner(s).

Look forward to seeing everyone there, will be a massive weekend and its not only about tuning (cars  )

Come along and have a crack, as there is upto $200 per division for first place in prize money, the more people that have ago the more money/prizes on offer ;)

Cheers GMB

Depending on the day, i might run, but my pizly wizly isn't exactly powerfull.

But definatly heading down for a looksee.

Its on SUNDAY lug nuts so you better be there.

As for your "pizly wizly" thats something you and your Mrs have to talk about

BUT in the mean time you should look at getting a bigger huffer :P

you crush it up and with gloves stuff it in between the cooler fins. LOL, or get a heshen bag, fill it with crush ice and sit infornt of teh cooler, has been done before.

It's a cheep and nasty way but it works. An older C02 fire extinguisher works well too, or a pressurised weed spray bottle with watter and metho.

Dyno Day was great! Car pulled 266.2rwkw and 676nm of torque atw. Also found out from sam that my car is fu*ckin lean in the top revs that has pissed me off cause someone said that it was tuned really rich! Other than that good day. Now to find somone to tune my car!

Well done Alan,

Interesting about the fuel ;), It will be interesting to see what sam can get out of mine tomorrow. >_<

i came down a few times to have a look, loked fun. My car hated driving in the heat, big time. For some reason now i am down on boost. hope that car is ok, gona do some investigating tonight.

Hall done Al R33, who did your previous tune, Pro Automotive?

well i know that all the tunes i got from kutsie are on the ritch side. Well according to the tuner and the plugs. Saying that who knows maybe something has changed since you tuned it, ie fuel pump or something.

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
