dud it's hobart, anywhere you get a place is 10 minuts from town.

BUT the first place (1) is crap, theer is parking available on teh opposite side of the road, but i wouldn't leave my car there. TOOO many people driving past and all.

Number 2) is ok location wise, it's actually more Toroona or so (can't speel it properly) propably 12-15 minuts drive.

Number 3) is off lower cascade road, not bad, get preatty cold though.

Hey guys. I've finally arrived. I'm staying just at the woolstore until i move into a place near the casino. I spotted a few skylines already on Saturday when i arrived. I spotted an orange 33 with the plates GTAAH(is it actually a GTR???), a purple 33 GTR, a green 32 gts-t(looked nice) and a black gts-t. I also spotted a nice blue R33 during the drive down as i entered Hobart. Any of you guys???

Anyway after the trip my car is dirty a sh*t and was just wondering is there any good carwashes around the place because i haven't had much time to look around for one.

Cheers,

Johnny

GTAAH is powered by RB26 hence the plates, id say its Grimo's purple GTR, dont know any green GTS-t, only know Lukes GTR and i can think of about 8 black 32 GTS-t's off the top of my head :P

If your after a brushless car wash then there are a couple around: Hungry Jacks/Shell servo in North Hobart, Shiners in Moonah or on the Brooker, great wash bay in Kingston (oppostite the Golden Arches)

Have to organise a meet up when everyone is free so you can meet all the guys and put some faces to names :)

Hey mate,

Welcome to Hobart!!! Pity you didn't come a few days earlier, you could have caught the opening round of the Tassie Drift Series, would have been an ideal place to meet everyone. Oh well, have to have a meet up instead. Be good to show you around and if you need anyone to show you the roads, my hand is up :):P

Hope to see you round

Scotty

Yeah I didn't think the orange 33 was a GTR but it did sound pretty tough.

Yeah i would have liked to watch the drifting. Used to go occasionally on friday nights in sydney. By the looks of it there are a fair bit of nice and twisty roads around. Not sure where to go so you might have to help me out with them.

A guided tour of Tassies best driving roads......sounds like a job I was born to do

Seriously, you could spend 2 straight weeks 600k's a day driving Tassie and still not get all the good roads in.

MMM thinking cruise FTW ! meet up at Aquatics center, through geilston bay, grass tree, sorell macca's and back along the highway????

Yeah well i'm up for a cruise whenever you guys are. I've heard good things of these tassie roads and can't wait to drive on them.

Also do any of you guys know a good smash repair place here because i finally have to get my car fixed and need to get some quotes for insurance. I just some small damage on the rear of it and the front lip has broken a clip.

I have seen great work out of a few places, Brighton smash repairs a mate had some work done on his 32 there was immaculate! maybe Minty's in mornington rd but they are expensive, Hobart Crash repairs

Thanks.

I'll have a look into those places. I have to go to atleast one that they tell me to. Hobart smash repairs was one of them. I'll try get a quote from them and maybe that brighton smash repairs.

Well tell him thanks for parking in the woolstore last night for whatever reason because i couldn't find any parking and had to go to a carpark a block away.

Just leave your car at work, probably safer

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
