Coilover Height Adjustments

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just a quick question about coilovers. Can you put different spring height measurements on all 4 corners on the coilvers to get the same ride height side to side (centre of wheel to guard).,

Thanks heaps

So it doesn't matter if preload height and shock body length are different side to side as long as the centre of wheel to guard measurement is the same?

If your aim is to level up the car, then no, it doesn't matter.

If you aim is to improve the handling, then it is impossible to tell without corner weighting.

:D cheers :P

Thanks SK, but just one more thing. When I made the car level side to side using different measurements on the coilovers the car pulls to the left bad, even after a wheel alignment. By the way the passenger front coilover was nearly 30mm shorter than the other side.

Thanks again

Unlikely that the height evening up causes the pull. Maybe get the wheel aligmnent checked again, preferably by a suspension workshop, not the local tyre service. Then post up the numbers, we may see something unusual.

 cheers :)
