Hey guys,

Just bought my self a nice new GReddy Type RS Bov...

But it doesnt come with an adapter, which at the time didnt bother me...

But ive just been down to autobarn, and they reckon you can either buy the bov by itself, or the bov in a kit with the adapter, but you cant buy the adapter by itself. which sounds strange. They then try to sell me some universal autotechnica adapter saying I would have to use this, and they could make up a flange to fit onto the bov, which i could then connect to the adapter with a peice of silicon hose.

Surely there is a better way?

I just need something like (extremely poorly) pictured here, which is a far superior solution than the one autobarn suggest.

Hopefully someone can help...

Thanks all

is that from justjap? imo version??? .... i have the same 1 . iv had mine in the cupboard for like 4 months... im making a flange to bolt it too. then il bolt it into the stock holes....

the adaptor you can get just bolts to the bov - with a round pipe to get welded to your fmic pipe or so.... pain in the ass if you ask me

The bov you mean? No its a genuine GReddy Type-RS.

might draw up a pic of the pictured adapter in the original post and take it to a few places see if i can get it made up..

cant cost much. single block of steel with a big hole in the middle and 4 drilled holes, No bigger than about 80x60x10mm :D

i just installed mine - with the flange i just made ... and the only sound im really getting from it , is flutter... and its comming from the turbo... i adjusted it both tight and loose... and still sounds the same.... not much sound to it .. i was told it would make a ptsshhhhh sound.

  • 2 months later...
A fluttering bov is a bov that does open...

Vac connected propperly?

Ill let you know how i go with mine..

Sinista: Yer, i think thats what im gonna have to do.

So no one knows where one can be bought?

(In regards to autobarn) I dont bring them in to help curb the sale of copy BOV's. Another reason is any decent exhaust shop can knock one up for the same price or less.

cheers trent

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
