predator
I was looking at my engine the other day (as you do).. when i noticed that i have some sort of screw that has been screwed into the intake plenum on the side, closest to the firewall side. There's some sort of sealent as well...looks like at some stage there has been some extra hose out of it, but its since been plugged up. Now also near the fuel charcoal canister return filtery-thingy, Ive noticed there is a unused t-section on the fater hose before it goes into the canister. Coming out of one side of that piece is like a small bit of hose with a screw stuffed into it (to seal it i assume). The plastic "t' piece has a little HKS stamped on it. I don't have any HKS stuff in my car though other than my cooler? What would that be evidence of? To me I assume it must some type of aftermarket guage that has been rigged in at some point?? Anybody know what sort of guage you'd run off those points?? Just curious, a lot of the stuff on my car came on it from japan.. wondering what else might have been done (if anything). Don't spot anything else unusual however... although i don't have a heat shield over my turbo anymore where as most i have seen do - does that mean my turbo has been pulled off previously?? hmmm? walkoau
pics would be good. the bolt in the plenum sounds like it was probably used as a supply point for a boost gauge that was previously in ur car. as for the charcoal canister, alot of ppl block them off because all they do is direct fuel vapours in to the intake. nissky
maybe used to have aftermarket boost controller, with its boost sensor using the connection on the manifold, and the wastegate solenoid using the t-piece from the charcoal canister pipe. this is exactly how mine is connected.... predator
i used to have a turbosmart boost controller.. and i have an aftermarket boost guage.. but neither have/were running off those points.. so must have been something else at some point?? nissky: ahh, could be that.. just another boost controller when it was in japan. The cannister is still all connected up.. maybe it was reconnected to get compliance.
