go to a servo and use the pumps to blow some air through it?

i wanted a BOV checked out while i was at my mechanics, he did just that and found there was a hole in the... plastic stuff that stops the air... f**ken mental blanks...

DIAPHRAM! i think... im not sure now...

i dunno, just tryin to help...

LOL

I dont think that is what she means.

I think that plenum would be okay ana because it still uses the stock bottom half which would make much better then others around.

no idea where to get it done though.

Yeah just wanted to get it checked because Adams 32 one actually ended up losing power (not alot) - however his was bottom part (flutes) was made by the apprentice and he stuffed it - Adam the guy who made mine is currently making a new one for him...

Just wanted to check the flow rate and compare to stock etc

ahhhh thats the thing with those kinda plenums. if the design is not flow tested etc before being made it can cause power loss and also cause some cyl's to detonate because they get less air etc etc.. thats why i went with the plasmaman.

It may be okay though because if the one on the 32 was f**ked then that would explain it. i can understand why you want to get it flow tested so maybe you should just in case.

Try ringing a engineer or something - maybe kevin will have some kinda idea where to get it done.

Also dont forget that the stock plenum can flow 500hp !! its just the location of the TB that makes em kinda crappy and a pain in the ass

Yeah... he has had no other problems - the RB30 and XR6 ones all have shown great gains on the dyno... but the 32 one was stuffed. Adam ended up giving the apprentice an earful! All he had to do was copy the others

Not expecting any problems but I would rather flow test it before I chop up my intercooler piping! Although Adam only lost about 2 rwkw and his was absolutely stuffed.

Might just bite the bullet and pop it on... can always run out and get some new intercooler piping for this rather than chop up the current.

I went with the plazmaman too. I was told Greddy is to big, so you need a bigger turbo to fill it up, getting lag. I have with Plazmanan 300 Kw at the wheels with standard internals so...I cull it....

Cheers,

EUG.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
