Cefiro crossmember

Recommended Posts

squizz is correct. but you can also use the cefiro x member. both pretty much the same.

bigbignacha, the rb30 motor is to tall for the hood to close on a 240sx, thus meaning you'll need a custom hood with a ugly hump in the middle so it can close.

u can allso elongate the engine mounts as far as they can go the ones that bolt 2 the block custom inlet mainifold twin cam head and the rb30 should fit .The r32 and cefiro crossmembers r the same and yes they fit straight in to a s13 i have done enough rb conversion 15 in fact so i know how do them .Oh by the way the rb30 block is 1 inch taller than a rb20 or 25

hey,

i am doing the conversion, and just got a few quick questions.

- what radiator did you use?

- when you elongate the mounts do you mean lower them or get them custom made?

- what gearbox mount and exmember did you use for the r33 5 speed.

i am having problems with bonnet shutting, and i am using r32 xmemba and r32 engine mounts.

thanks for your time

depends on what you are after the only reason i would use the cefiro crossmember is if you want to keep the 4 stud slivia brakes but with an rb30 you will need something alot more serrious than standard slivia brakes

as for the crossmember try New Zealand there was a lot of wreaks last time i was there if you have problems finding one contact me and i will see what i can find

in any case it looks like a great project keep us in touch to see if it works

my project is an s13 240sx in the states. i have converted the hatch to a pickup bed just to be a little i know that it sounds ugly but it is starin to look good. As far as the motor i am just starting, i have the rb25det cylinder head and i am going to order an rb30 from a shop in adelaidef for 1500 plus 700 shipping to the east coast in the states. just like everyone else in the states i dont know much about the rb30 except for the fact that it is an extremely rare conversion here but now the shape of my car is rare so i guess it will work. also i was going to do an r33 headlight conversion but i think i want to go with an r32 conversion so if anyone wants r33 headlights in exchange for r32 pm me :P

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
