From memory the coupe was rarly made in a non-turbo .. they are around but I think better options are GT-4 and the sedan models .. more common.. Id go GT-4 dude .. same engine but 4wd! (i think its 4 doors)

Obviously not many imported into aust, However that will soon change with law changes

Is this car a private sale or from a yard?

For the car you've mentioned I'd be looking between $16K - $19K but only becuase of the Km's. It would have to be very perfect i.e. Auction Grade 4.5 and above, to command more than $19K but thats just me.

So you're saying that it's worth exactly the same price as a 4door auto is going for? I find that hard to believe...

Have a look on carsales.com.au - that will give you an accurate market indicator.. as it's well, the market.

Pricing is roughly like this:

R34GTT Coupe Manual > R34GTT coupe auto > R34GTT sedan manual > R34 GTT sedan auto > R34 GT coupe manual > R34 GT coupe auto > R34 GT sedan manual > R34 GT sedan auto

Pricing ranges from around 30k for a low km GTT coupe manual to around 12-13K for a non turbo sedan auto.

The model you are enquiring above would probably be around 15k mark. Any more and you could probably afford a GTT sedan auto.

Looking at buying a '98 R34 GT25 coupe. 5spd manual. 85000ks. Perfect inside and out, drives great, all that.

At a guess, what would it be worth, roughly? I can't find enough of the non-turbo ones around to compare prices.

you might wanna tell us how much the seller is asking for this one and maybe post a pic.

i agree with John above.....

ok, so your buying from a dealer, no wonder the price is more than normal.

i still think that it would have to be an auction grade 4.5 to 5 car to be asking $22K with those Km's, exhaust and rims.

GT-4 is mainly a coupe but there are some rare cases of a 4door version available.

I did a quick search not sure which state you are in but found some for cheaper with similar spec on drive.com.au... also on a side note whilst i was there, there is a dealer selling R34 GTT Coupes in Auto/Manual from $22*** now... man i paid that for my sedan like 8 months ago!

EDIT: just noticed the number plates, these are in Sydney but gives you something to compare with i am sure you can find a good value one in good nick for around the $19k from a dealer in your area, if not I would wait untill you find one in that range as the value is dropping quickly now and not matter how many mods you do to the car or have on it, it will only yield a slightly higher value when reselling if that concerns you at all, some people like to not waste a heap of cash and others don't worry. I personally bought mine stock and am investing cash into it so it will loose alot but then stockers are mostly but not in all cases less "trashed" as you say - just my opinion.

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
