Hmmm... I run the standard AFM too and I ping as well!

At high boost, heavy power usage.

My z32 is imminent (thanks to Philip!) and I'm doing a fuel pump (either a 040 or 984 - doubtful whether a 044 is in the cards :P

Sooo... I'll get back to you guys with just the z32 and Bosch.

Injectors, reg. + plenum is some while off for me I afraid.

Mark - you need to get with Northside sometime!

sounds good on paper.

haha? or just buy the Mines R34...that may fix it for good

i mean common, he is looking for a cheap solution, i suspect?

not to fork out $2500+

I've already got the fuel pump so another one is not needed.

I've also got Inasnt's old blitz BOV in (at last).

I've been too busy to do anything with my car, looks like i'll be busy on the weekend too - gf has an assignment due which i'll be doing. working 6 days + uni assignments = not much time for anything else.

Killer: where can i change the idle? my car is idling at about 600, shouldnt it be closer to 8 or 900?

maj: nope, i havent cleaned the injectors, but a week ago i bought some of that injector cleaner from a car store (just for the hell of it) and poured it in the tank.

Tony: I have a couple of times. I've been to meets/cruises starting at burger king and chatswood.

Inasnt,

Are you getting your powerFC through Nengun? I got mine a few weeks ago through him and cost me $1600 delivered. I put it in myself and then (as you know) got it tuned last saturday.

What do 550cc injectors cost to buy + install? I'm thinking of ruling out other stuff that could be wrong before spending more money. I guess ive spent about $10k sofar since I bought it less than a year ago.

What I dont understand is - why would the commander report that the injectors are at 72%. If there is a problem with my injectors wouldnt it read close to 100%?

Majanal,

I like to do things properly so I might have to get another AFM and injectors after I rule out other possible causes.

yep getting pfc through nengun for a bit cheaper than what u paid as its a second hand pfc and new handcontroller!

As for injectors the cheapest i have found is around $170 each for sard ones. I am getting all the parts together (around $7500) and getting it all installed at once.

We can high flow stock R33 injectors to 600-660cc capacity for $150 each. It’s all done on a flow bench and importantly all matched to one another so that all cylinders receive equal distribution. Removal and replacing would be another $200 but I’m sure a lot of you guys are good with the spanners and could do it yourselves :)

Btw, I have heard pinging on the dyno yet the power FC commander only showed a knock value of 27 and the engine check light didn’t come on. Go figure. Also Sydney kid has a valid point with the computer sometimes accessing the wrong load point in the tuning maps. So you might get an anomalous reading once in a while and the car might do funny things.

how long would it take to highflow 6 side feeds?

MRK25T, those dynos look ok to me, nice result acutally. Have you checked your AFM peak voltage yet? The reason I ask is because that is exactly where mine hit 5.1v (max flow) when I first fit and tuned my power fc.

If your car is idling fine at 600 dont worry about it, I think stock is 660 rpm if my memory serves. If it isnt idling correctly, take it back to the guys that tuned it.

If you must mess with it, the idle is in the settings menu. Just remeber you may have to adjust the deceleration fuel cut recovery rpm first (setting above the idle setting), as you have to have at least 100 rpm between it and the idle.

That is exactly what I am talking about! Now if you go into the etc menu (I think) you can disable the check engine light for the AFM. Take the car out again, and see if it still flashes. Alternately, check on your peak hold and it will show you what is maxing out, but I think this is the problem, esp as your injectors are less than 80% and you dont have any noticeable detonation.

5.1v (or 5.115v if you want to be exact) is max flow on the AFM = check engine light flashes.

    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.

    • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
