Newbie Need Help With Mods

hi guys im new to the world of turbos. recently stepped up from a honda prelude to a r34 gt-t. car came with blitz pod filter and nismo suspension. and i put hks front pipe and blitz nur spec cat back exhaust system, as well a gfb hybrid blow off valve. thats pretty much all thats done to the car. i have some plans for the car and just want to have some of you guys sugguestions. i have bought an apexi black pen style turbo timer, 600x300x105 fmic, turbosmart dual stage boost controller and hopefully an apexi safcII soon. im putting the fmic on either this week or next and wonder where i go from there. i was thinking fmic, boost controller (low - 5psi and high-12psi **please advise me on what boost i should set it at safely**) then when i get an apexi safcII put it on and tuned. any other suggestions? and also after i put my blow off valve on the car started to backfire/exhaust poping. is this normal? or is something wrong there? i was told its because its running richer now. btw my car's a triptronic so i dont want to be running heaps of power where it cant handle and dies.
