it is not recomended for cars with airbag..it'll might pop out while changing severely injuring you, may even kill you...think again

well that shouldnt be a problem  i don thave an airbag

you will need a steering wheel puller its the easiest way you can do it by far, probably pick one up from repco or something for a few dollars?( ive seen some people do it with a Punch and Hammer Not recommended tho, dodgy way) make sure you leave the nut on at the end of the thread so it doesnt hit you in the face when it pops off .Its pretty straight forward once you take the old one off fit boss kit, clip on wire for horn then screw the steering wheel on to the boss kit, very simple and the boss kit should come with some sort of instructions :(

the horn cover on the series 1 wheel comes off by pulling it. it feels like it wont, and then click, it pops off (the first time i did it i was looking for screws on the back, there are none).

you'll have a hicas boss kit. make sure you line it up straight when u put it on. ive heard ppl had the hicas light come on the dash when its put on wrong.

As 95SKY said, leave the nut on the end of the thread for safety to save a broken nose. Then put a hand on each side of the wheel while sitting in the seat (I move the seat forward so I'm nice and close) and pull hard while 'shaking' the wheel. It won't come off if you just pull it, you need to shock or work it off so 'shake' it, ie alternate the pulling force from left to right side.

If needed get someone to hit a punch on the end of the thread as you're doing this to help.

Good Luck

Hey guys just picked up a free boss kit and steering wheel, the boss kit fits a cressida but it fits my spline on my 32 gts also, the question i have is does the plastic assembley with the brass plate inside it (located just behind the stock steering wheel) come apart so i can get my horn working with this boss kit which has a brass ring which is meant to fit onto and brass plate for the horn... seems to have a few clips and everything but i didnt want to pull on things too hard incase it broke and didnt actually fit my boss kit. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? and have a solution other than buying a new boss kit cos im poor as and thats not an option at the moment.

Thanks in advance, Steve.

hi

the puller to use is a plate puller that bolts on using m6 bolts then the centre screw pushes on the steering shaft to remove the wheel.. its a handy tool because it is also used to remove the harmonic balancer off the motor with no damage[timing belt replacement].

if you have an r32 the straight ahead position sensor is different on early and later models so make sure when the wheel is straight that the big slot in the sensor wheel is inside the opto trap or else after 10 minutes of freeway driving you will get the warning light because the straight ahead signal will be not recieved too long. It wont happen in the suburbs because you are alway turning the wheel you will get the straight ahead signal when you are turning.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
