hey guys

i recently upgraded my BOV from a apexi item to a blitz item

since iv installed the blitz bov it wont vent, iv taken it apart cleaned it, the piston moves freely with no obstruction and backed off the spring all the way out its only like 3 turns in !!! my previous bov was atmo so i know the system works..

iv replaced the vac line there is no leak and i dont know whats the deal !

i was playing with it all afternoon and it vented like 3 out of 1000 !!! why wont it vent everytime??

car idles fine everything seems perfect cept the fact it doesnt vent all i gets flutter

oh btw this is on rb25 and im running 12psi which should be more than enough to open an un-tensioned bov

so if anyone has any suggestions to how i might fix this cause iv tried everything i can think of

thank you

Jarryd

got it working !!!

i got some 1200grit wet n dry and rubbed back everything to remove any burs or imperfections, used motor oil insted of water of course

put back together with grease insted of motor oil and seems to be working all good now

though i removed the plate that controls spring tension so i hope when i go for a dirve it wont open really early and leak..

so if anyone has the same prob just give that a go and see if it makes a difference

haha point and case , if he has a knock off , then there is the answer to his question . go put your stock bov back on , they arent worth the hassel . unless your prepaired to spend over $450 for something really genuine and decent , otherwise your going to have leaks , idle troubles and just a plain old waiste of time and money

its a genuine blitz bov

it only works in like 1st n 2nd, prob more presure in 3rd n doesnt release...

the spring tension is fine when it works it opens early as like hardly on boost.

the vac is fine it almost sucks my finger off

the internals seem fine i cant find any mechanical flaw in it, ie chips in piston n that

i was thinkin of buyin a new spring?

i got a prac day today and dont want to run flutter !! to much on/off throttle

it just doesnt make sence

btw its the blitz bov with the trumpet with 4 holes

can't help you there. It seems very weird. Maybe throw your apexi one back on.

Maybe there's a leak in the diaphragm or something, so when the vac line tries to suck the diaphragm up to release, the air is getting around or through the diaphragm somehow..... Maybe connect a line to the nipple and see if you can simulate it.

Just a guess.

    • You'd want to cap off the re-entry back into the dump too. Just something flat that can be held on by the Vband.
    • Thanks for the recap Matt Z. It was a great day out and I know you have said it already, but we couldn’t have done it without the volunteers.
    • Couldn't agree anymore, massive thanks to all that came by, helped out, or those who just wanted to talk cars. You are the community that make this such a great car club. cant wait for what we have planned for the future
    • Looking at the photos, you could easily just drop this pipe and dump into atmosphere  Just 1 or 2 quick hits for data acquisition - if have a heat shield material and/or sheet metal, maybe just use wire/metal cable ties and attach it in a way to deflect heat from melting nearby wires.
