If any of you guys are interested in Skyline models, heres the post from the general discussion forum... These have been out for a while (sorry if repost!) and I think are ending soon. 120yen *per can*, so to get the model it'll cost 240yen for the double can super set

nice! boss had a similar thing going in january. I picked up a few including 32 GTR. they were pretty crappy models though, but hey, for 120yen inc the cofee it's not too bad.

The UCC C110 GT-R is particularly good, with a minute 'Skyline GT' badge on the rear quarters and the rear tail light panel showing excellent detail. I say this because I also got these Nissan maodels from 'Furuta' confectionary company who make these chocolate eggs a la Kinder suprise... the eggs were delicious but the models inside were not very well done with pretty dodgy quality, but in their defense they're even smaller than the UCC models at what I would guess is 1/82nd scale:

UCC (left), Furuta (right). The Furuta C110 had worse quality, yet they were still able to add fender mirrors...

You can actually make out the Skyline badge on the rear quarter if only I could hold the camera steady.

Pretty impressive for 1/72nd scale

Obligatory mobile phone size comparison shot... yes those incessant Cameron Diaz Softbank commercials did their job... :D

lol, yeah they are everywhere. cameron walking down the street, talking etc. then you look up and there is a 30ft bilboard of her too!

She was on Smap last week (or the week before?) and said it was the best show she's been on... lol

mm softbank have the flashiest looking stores too. hard to say no. nearly had me trading in the tuka pre-paid for a new keitai. shame i'd hardly ever get to use it!

hey Rezz, i see you got yourself a sharp 910 SH. damn good phone isnt it? i, too, bought the 5 mega pixel camera and lo and behold it came with a phone! ;)

did you take those pics with the phone or another camera? shame on softcok..they dont want any of us actually thinking we can export any of those little beauties over seas where every other model is inferior....except maybe a couple of nokias..

on another note, i saw a twin pack of boss cans in a conbini with a skyline model attached to them..

is that one of the same models by any chance?

damn...i missed it.

my wife says shes really hot.. but i turn to her and say no..shes a bitch that only ever came good in the Mask and even then Carrey eclipsed her.

....my wifes much hotter and much more desirable..she is japanese after all... ;)

and NO..thats NOT the reason i bought a softcock phone...

m3gtr: Yeah got the 910SH, the camera is almost as good as my 5 year old Canon IXY 5.0 mega but the lens is 'crapper'... haha. If anything it's good for HUUUGE pics and the 3x optical zoom absolutely kills my old Panasonic P505iS with 20x DIGITAL zoom... lol.

Ganta: Yes theres six models, and an extra one (V36 Skyline 350GT Type SP sedan) that you have to go online and try and win by doing this internet version of 'scratch and win'... each can is worth one point, and it costs 2 points for one chance at getting the V36. There are 6 'scratchy bits' that you have to scratch only two of to see if you get a match (just like sctratch and win). I tried 6 times but lost every time!!!! I don't even like canned coffee... ;)

Yes it's one of them. I got all six but cost 1,440yen... which if I saw all six packaged by themselves in a box I'd probably think twice about it, but the lure of 12 free cans of tin flavoured 'coffee' was too much good value ;) Nah I just like Skylines...

    • The HG high flow is excellent, and costs about the $$ you're talking about. But it, and probably every other highflow, uses a diffeent core than the original turo, and the original Hitatchi core is quite long. So, I think it is inevitable that there is likely no such thing as a highflow that just "bolts on" with no other effort required. And the same is likely true for HG's outright replacement "bolt on" turbos (the ATR things). And the same is likely true for anything similar from elsewhere. I have no idea if the cheap Chinese/Taiwanese complete turbos from eBay/Temu/etc are as bolt on as they claim. I mean, they claim the bolt onto the NAs as well as the turbos, and we know that can't be "bolt on". But it wouldn't matter because I'm not buying a $169 4 psi turbo for anything other than a paddock basher.
    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
