Blow of valves consume more fuel?

I believe it does after I upgraded to an aftermarket blitz blow of valve, replacing the stock bov.

Your opinions?

And another question;

What is the difference between 95/98 octane fuel? Would running on lower octane, damage the engine?

Your car will use more fuel generally because it will be overfuelling.

You can either get an ECU, and have it tuned.

Or put the stock one back in there, nothing wrong with it.

You should run 98octane fuel in an import

It overfuels because the airflow meter reads a certain amount of air passing through it, a portion of which is then not actually entering the engine because the blow off valve allows it to exit the inlet tract.

As such, it thinks (and injects fuel as if) X amount of air has entered the engine, when in fact the engine only really has X - amount released by BOV.

Just a thought.

I've seen cars modded so the afm is moved to just in front of the throttle body, ie after the turbo.

I guess this would solve the problem of metered air being lost through the bov.
