Well you cant please everyone.

I drive at a slow pace, I piss the revheads like yourself off. I drive at a fast pace, people go home cause they cant hack it.

Besides, at the time of said NA supra id had my car for like a month and it was bone-stock. If you and the surpa driver werent such tough-guys on the mountain id be happy to drive it again with you, but a grudge drive with drivers like yourself is only going to end badly.

We drove it at a pace we felt comfortable with. There was no "toughness" about it. You drive like an old woman, as your QR time indicates. If you wish to prove otherwise, show up at the May 17th trackday as you have stated and prove me wrong. Surely that's a safe enough environment for you, and you wont have any passengers to worry about ;)

Please don't embarrass yourself by spouting anymore bullshit.

it also had alot of work done to its suspension from what I recall, and break upgrades to boot?

I on the other hand was running on 18-year old stock suspension and stock disc rotors thin as wafers.

But whatever...

The Supra had stock brakes

if there was no "toughness" about it, why did you feel it necessary to sink the boot in at the end of the run before the turnoff to summerset dam?

it wasnt a friendly give and take, it was a "your shit cause your slow"

QR track times can be explained by quite-rooted street tyres, additionally it was my first day at the track. I cant believe im here having this arguement on this forum, because wasnt it you group of guys who jumped on the bandwagon to have my runs put to an end because they were too fast/spirited/dangerous???

I didn't say a word to you the whole run.....get your facts straight

it wasnt a friendly give and take, it was a "your shit cause your slow"

I believe it was something like "you need to learn how to drive your car" but it wasn't me who said it. Maybe you heard it as "you are shit..."

I have no idea what group of guys you are talking about, but anyone who knows me knows I would NEVER be against mountain runs being organised. Quite the contrary.

and factory bilsteins.

i'm sure an inspection is more than welcome.

on a side note;

Track day May 17th

Skidpan May 19th

"AWD" cruise May 20th

which is it?

Whatever I want. Whats it to you?

If you say so.

I believe it was something like "you need to learn how to drive your car" but it wasn't me who said it. Maybe you heard it as "you are shit..."

And I believe it was more along the lines of "Im better then you, suck on it" but hey, whatever!

Meh, I dont really care. I dont know you and I dont want to know you.

You guys are all fired up about what I said about the tea party, but you need to realise that I said it because thats exactly how it happened. On the last run a few people, in gtst's, decided that the pace I was setting was going too hard and went home, then lobbied non-stop to have the runs put to an end. If you want to get all fired up about it then thats cool, I really dont care what you blokes think.

My e-penis is no smaller because of what your saying, is yours bigger?

And I believe it was more along the lines of "Im better then you, suck on it" but hey, whatever!

Maybe that's what your insecure and paranoid little mind translated it to. That's your problem....see a therapist ;)

Meh, I dont really care. I dont know you and I dont want to know you.

Thank Christ for that. I have 2 children of my own, I don't need any more in my life.

There was never a competition mate. Stop posting like "hard GTR-man", knocking RWD cars and it might not happen again. I was simply pointing out that you don't actually have the skills to back-up your statement.

That is the last you will hear from me on the matter.

Good day

You talk about my insecurities yet here you are firing up over comments I made pointed at other people which have clearly triggered your own

People in glass houses.........

Since its all about the ego's here and whos is bigger (and dont tell me there was no competition in this, you came in here with the point of saying your better then me) I will simply ask how do you know so much as to judge me? You couldnt pick me out of a crowd, you barley know me. Your judging based on events that happened ages ago, and whats more your not looking at the whole picture. 2 months later I did take a mountain run at a pace you would of been happy with (well maybe. I suspect that no matter what pace I set you wouldnt be happy with it, you would just have to be the one in front and would pile on everything you had without regards to anyones saftey until you were at the front) and in the end it wound up with people being scattered all over the country-side.

But whatever. You talk about insecurities but I suspect yours have clouded your judgement here. I wasnt trying to say that one car was better then the other, you have missed my point completly. I was trying to say that this community / forum is both for and against mountain runs and its silly.

But then you wont read any of this, but I dont care.

Whatever I want. Whats it to you?

Dude, I have no idea who you are, never been on your runs, never met you and what not. Despite that fact, you have one of the worst attitudes I've ever encountered.

What's it to me is... that you are HOLDING valuable positions in which you may or may not intend to follow through with, and that my friend is what shits me off. By all means get involved with the club, set up mountain cruises, go on a skidpan, go to a track day, etc. but dont hold others back from the oppourtunity to participate.

I have seen you pull out of the skidpan event 2-3 days prior to the payment deadline - we now have a skidpan event which is down two people, and I am chasing more people so that OUR (yes yours and mine, and all the other members) event will still go ahead without OUR club having to fork out more money.

Track day is on the 17th of May - less than 3 weeks to go, and I am waiting for a position to open up so I (much like you) can have my first track outing. You haven't paid a deposit, nor have you expressed further interest in partcipating and yet you are already expressing interest in a mountain cruise with comments about "going fast" on the 20th of May. See the irony?

Personally, the image you are portraying to me is one of a selfish narrow minded GTR (will never lose) boy racer who thinks he can do this track day, that skidpan day, this dyno day, and that cruise - and that's fine by me... but a little common courtesy goes a long way and there are more than just GTR owners in this club.

On a side note; I expect a lot more maturity from someone your age. Actions speak louder than words - show them a thing or two.

I wish everyone would lay off the whole GTR/GTST e-wang stuff.

The man maketh the machine.

Don't compare yourself to others or you will become vain and bitter, for there is always a greater and lesser person then yourself.

Remember what peace there is in silence.

I pulled out of the skid pan day due to other things happeneing in my life - I still want to go but I dont know if I can and wont until later on this week. This was unacceptable to them so I pulled out, as I am not forking out money to go to something which I may or may not be in a position to attend. It is the same for track day, and for this cruise, hence why I said I may go to this.

If you would prefer I can put the deposit down now for track day and then see if work approves the leave-app or not. Having just started a new job 3 weeks ago I wanted to leave it as long as possible before I started asking for time off to go to motor-sport events and what not, but if your going to be pushy about it I can see where your coming from. If I cant come however, and you want the spot, I will expect you to pay the deposit to me.

As to the two events conflicting, I dont really see the problem... there several days appart, I cant see why someone couldnt go to both, or even all three, skidpan day included.

//edit:

Just to clarify - its not work thats holding me back from the skid-pan day.

we all have lives outside our passion to deal with, and while you might be starting a new job or have something critical going on in your life - sorry to say that isn't my problem and i don't care, it is something YOU need to deal with without dragging others down with you.

if your name is down for the track day, then i suggest you put a deposit down to confirm your spot. however if you don't go then i suppose you can sell it to someone OR it is forfeit and offered to those on the waiting list (that is Paul's decision and not yours).

i never mentioned about the days conflicting - i'm just stating (and confused) as to which it is you are actually attending and which you aren't.

I thought id made it pretty clear:

Skid pan day - No.

Track day - Yes.

This cruise - Maybe.

If whats going on with my life isnt your problem then your concerns / lack of spot at track day arent my problems and I dont care. If your pushed for numbers at the skid pan day then I could of been offered a bit of flexability. As it was I was hit straight up with a yes or no answer so I was forced to go no.

I wont be rushed into any decisions by you. I will put my leave-app in tomorrow and if it go's through then ill be there with bells on. As I see it waiting one more day for the deposit wont kill anyone, besides, it wouldnt go through till tomorrow night anyway.

    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
