Just thought I'd get some expert opinion before ringing around.

I have a 89 R32 GTR with the common yellow Bilstein shocks that aren't really that well suited to Sydney roads, but now that I have moved back to canberra they are more livable.

The problem is when putting on some upper rear arms, it was discovered that one of the shocks has been broken for a long time (maybe even from when I got the car).

The thread on top of the shock has snapped off. what I want to know is,

1st, is it repairable and approx how much

2nd, would it be more cost effective just getting new shocks

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Michael

yep it's repairable. talk to bilstein in sydney. they have all the facilities to do it.

Thanks for that, alittle disappointed when I rang them up as they couldn't give me a rough estimate on how much it would cost even after describing the problem and said I had to bring it in for a quote during a weekday. Alittle bit of a hassle since work in Canberra. oh well.

Just wanted to know if it's going to cost $300-$400 to repair I'm better of buying a second hand set instead of repairing 1 shock.
