Gumball has now been cancelled following the death of a local man in Macedonia who was involved in a collision with a Carrera. He died of a heart attack either on the way to hospital or at the hospital.

RIP and hope his wife makes a full recovery who is seriously injured too. :P

Ford GT and Carrera destroyed now, pics on the above link from Links

Yeah, was just looking at up as well, would quickly put your life upside down.. RIP and agree best of luck to the macedonians wife..

Nick Morley and Matthew McConville were the 2 in the porsche, got picked up by the russians but were stopped @ the border..

It's sad.. But it was bound to happen eventually. I bet there have been lots of close calls over the years.

What else is to be expected when you have 30-40 odd cars racing each other here and there at various points along public roads?

There has been, they've been amazingly lucky never to have someone killed before, torquenstein rolled his Viper last year which was absolutely destroyed but managed to survive.. This is the first year where they have hit OTHER cars on the road, most have been off's where they hit walls/trees/ditches..

Driving on little to no sleep doesn't help..

gumball 3000 is like 3000 MILES not 1900 kms i drove from brissy to melbourne in 14.5 hours once dude. wouldnt that be great all these rich mofos come in their ferraris and lambos and shit and drive for approx 10 hours (going by the footage i have seen on the net of guy doing some seriously stupid speeds) and then they get to the end and have their lil party get back on the plane and go home all over in one day that would be really really gay imo

you drove from melbourne to brisbane in 14.5 hours......riiiiight. it takes 11.5 hours doing the speed limit from sydney to brisbane with an hours break in between. you would have to be doing 150km/h the WHOLE way with no pit stops/refuelling/stuck behind trucks/no stupid 50km/h suburban areas :laughing-smiley-014:

torquenstein would have had to have the worst possible costume to be wearing in that crash

he was extremely lucky to not be killed

Sadly looks like the wife died over night too who was the passenger in the golf.

Not sure why people make references to the wealth of the drivers/competitors as whether rich or poor, there are bad drivers in all walks of life and financial status.

Im surprised it says they could face a 1yr jail time??? 1yr? For killing two people and then running away?...

1 year is for the running away and not assisting with medical help part. He hasnt been proven on the accident part which if he is, faces a subsequent 8 years.

apparently they stayed for the ambulance to arrive, then gapped it

That's his solicitors argument. Others differ and say they fled straight away.

To make matters worse, it is reported that he was released on bail and given his passport back as a gesture of good will and he went and had a private jet sent over from the UK to get him. He was busted trying to board it in Macedonia!

Thats from one of the tabloids out of the UK not the usual crap The Sun spins.

    • This. The R34 handbrake icon DOES come up when the brake fluid level is low. You might be sitting right on that threshhold. I have been down this diagnosis path and this was the solution (and it was pretty much as full as your picture is to begin with).
    • Unfortunately the cavaet to that is that while any scan tool should be able to read the code, the workshop will need a consult plug to OBD socket adapter. You don't have a location on your profile, where are you based?
    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
