hi all i have a rwd 2001 stagea rb25det neo i need to change the auto fluid

does anyone know what fluid i should use is there certain type i should use

or is there a better fluid on the market

afaik the Nissan D-Matic or what ever its called is supposed to be one of the best things to use. There is a thread on all of this anyway with recomended fluids. I think some use Castrol as well.

I've used Castrol Tranzmax Z, states on bottle it's a direct replacement for Nissans Matic-D.

Im new to autos and this might sound like a sily question but how often should you change the trans fluid?

it depends i think is every 60000km. use a good oil mobil ATF and add a bottle of NULON Auto transmission fluid into it and it works wonder. smooth gear change no jerks and quicker response. trust mei had it in my auto landcruiser and im gonna to add it to any autobox i have.

Took mine for a service at Warilla Automatics down here in wollongong. he uses Nissan D-matic from Nissan. Cost me $130 for a service. Filter and oil. He some Toyota imports of his own that he has imported. Nice bloke to deal with too.
