Hi all,

Looking for some track wheels for my R34GTT - what can people recommend? I'm looking to get something that will have a wide variety of choice for tyres, so I was thinking 17x9's? Don't want to use spacers at all - had enough of them! Run 18"

Are 16" too small to clear the brakes? I have DBA rotors, pretty sure they are 330mm... Are 16's any cheaper for tyres anyway and would I be able to get a 9 inch wide rim? Obviously 17's will look better :)

If there's a particular wheel of choice I'd be happy to see a pic!

Cheers

From other threads previously - 17 inch rims seem to have more tyre range/choice for the track

width not sure however.

I know I struggled for ages to get some semi's for my 16's but kept on searching!

17*8 front, and 17*9 will be ideal for track usage.

You can find semi slicks to suit these sizes.. ie 235s front, and 255s rear..

As for track rims.. Most of the Volk Range, Buddy clubs, Work rims etc etc, they are all light weight..

Just use the standard GTt rims with the semis on!

MY car ive got 32 gtst rims for road and my 33 rims with the semi's on

Alsi if you damage the GTt rims - there are cheapish to replace!

im not 100% sure if 9 inch wheels fit the front of a R34, but from the one i saw today, i would say they do.

go for a 9 inch front and rear and run a 235 semi front and rear.

you dont need wider tyres unless you have some massive hp, and because they are the same size as commodores and falcons they will be relatively cheap for a semi.

i would stick to 17's as well because thats what the car came with stock and you will have some good sidewall flex. you do want some. 18's wont really provide it.

also i dont think 16's will fit the front of a r34, otherwise just get some cheap r32 gtr wheels and run 225-50-16 semis on them

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
