hey,

i need help to find the problem with my 93 r33 gtst.

everytime i step on the throttle it makes a fluffing type

noise like its maybe over fueling.

its hard to explain but only does it at top revs(around 5 to 7k)

and under load.

iv been told that it maybe be one of the coil packs but any other

suggestion would be great.

cheers,

Matt

fluffling noise?... does it missfire at all? when last did you change your plugs? how much power do you have? standard clutch? (sliping)

if you can answer those questions it will help us to diagnose the problem a little better.

cheers

CJ

i had this EXACT same problem. it aint ya coil packs.

Its def the sparkys. You can fix this problem for around forty dollars.

Go and buy 6x NGK BCPR6ES plugs.

From memory, Make sure they are gapped at 0.7mm.

Install.

Take your 33 for a blast.

Come back here and tell me if it works.

well said....but do not relly on these plugs for a long time....my NGK coppers only lasted for around 6 mnths not even that....irridiums are the best and from memory the gapping in 0.8-1mm....my mate had this problem on his 33 and as far as i have read along its definately the spark plugs....

hi guy's thanks for all your suggestions,

in answer to ur question its more of a fluffing noise then a

miss fire and its worst underload.

wats ur thought on wat fuel to run?

mine is a hole heap better on 98 then reg.

also i need new tierod ends any suggestion were is best to

buy them

cheers

+1 to that....keep the gapping to 0.8 around that mark and do not use anything less then 98 even though the motor can run on a 95 fuel only if its completely stock....btw if you get your car fixed please let me knw what you had to replace to get the power back....i am having similar issues.....

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
