does anyone have a picture of the stock cas timing position for the rb20det silvertop? Also what would cause it to run rich? I ran the diagnostics test and the single led light stayed on. Everything else checked out fine (55). Only mods are blitz intake, high flow exhaust/cat and i have alot of black carbon buildup on the tail pipe and the exhaust really smells. i get a headache just from the smell of it, please help thanks

There is no "stock" position for the CAS. It is adjustable because every engine is slightly different.

These engines generally run rich by design - it is self-preservation. But it could be that the injectors are dirty and not shutting off properly, allowing excess fuel into the cylinder. As a start, have the injectors sonic-cleaned, then run injector cleaner (I find the Nulon product to be quite effective) on a regular basis.

You may also have a dead O2 sensor if the diagnostic is not showing "red-green" cycling.

I have a single LED light on my ECU , i'll check the diagnostics. anyone know the o2 sensor parameters to test (ohms)

Well then, it will probably be "on-off" cycle. The O2 sensor puts out a voltage on the centre (white?) wire, between 0 - 1 V. When the ECU is in "closed-loop", the output will vary within this range, but should generally average 0.5V . Note: "Closed-Loop" is constant throttle and constant load, NO BOOST, vacuum only.

alright i got some voltage out of the white wire! I'm going to the dyno tomorrow to see how its running. turns out the rear trunk compartments on each end of the car had vents that were sucking exhaust fumes into the car when the windows are down.

are the rear of the skylines sealed? I need a lower lip so the exhaust can't get sucked under...and a spoiler, and paint!

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
