Rb20det + 25t Wastegate Issue

Hi i recently brought a 1990 R32 Mspec coupe

Was wondering if you could put a external wastegate on with a stock manifold,

It has a RB25 Turbo on it rebuilt with a T4 Compressor wheel(what is that what does it do?) I know i could do it by buying another manifold but is there anyway i can get a wastegate on with the standard one. Ive been told i couldve if it still had a rb20 turbo on it but now i cant, is this true?

to answer your question no, the turbo you have has an internal type wastegate.

do a search on google for wastegates you will find all the info you need

doesnt mean you cant do it, you could always weld up the wastegate flap then fit an external gate... but this is all a crude way of doing things... at the end of the day, do you need the external gate? unless your running big boost i'd say no

thanks guys, im planning on bigger injectors and boost controller run 12psi and i love the sound of wasties and surely it would give sum extra horses whether im on high boost or not?, if i got a highmount manifold with wastegate, id have to change all the intake? because wouldnt the J pipe be in the way of the turbo or are there other ways around it?
