kralster
speak for yourself buddy. Just because you claim to be an under performing driver does'nt mean i am too. I not saying i cant drive a car to ITS limits but i know MY limit and i do race and have had professional training. Id gladly run rings around you for being so conceited. Just so you know, a machine is only as good as its driver or didnt they teach you that when you took your driving/racing school for dummies course?? So what point are you making exactly? that you agree with me that people here cannot drive their cars to the limit? Maybe read what you have written and at least edit it so that it makes sense. cruzin33
you can be the best driver in the world but on public roads it takes one thing to go wrong like some old granny cutting you off then you are wraped around apole simple as. So no use bragging bout how good you are means shit all on public roads it's bout luck Thats my 2 and a half cents Edited June 10, 2007 by cruzin33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/171306-advertiser-today/page/4/#findComment-3171238 Share on other sites
kralster
luck has hardly anything to do with it. It's all about driving to the conditions. looking ahead, being aware of your sorroundings. Ride a motorbike then you'll know its about how you yourself act on the road, treat everyone like they are going to kill you. Aussme everyone is going to do something stupid. Just because it's a give way sign doesn't mean they are going to give way, etc, etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/171306-advertiser-today/page/4/#findComment-3171381 Share on other sites

Sambo33
both my dad and uncle rode bikes for years, and between them they had a few serious stacks all caused by cars that 'didnt see them' or cut them off. my cousins ex husband is dead because of an impact with a truck. they were all good riders, attended track days, my uncle even competed in 250s for awhile. the point is you can never predict what will happen/change in a street environment, no matter how good driver/rider u are. even once when i was cruising out in the country at night, and my passenger spots a kangaroo sitting on the side of the road during a corner i just passed, if it had decided to cross (which most seem to do) there would have been no way i could have braked in time, also at the brisk pace we were going (not over the limit) it would have been quite a mess. m3gtr
What track and when is it open your going to have to come to Japan to take me on. lets see now, well, will suzuka suffice? or maybe even fuji speedway? In any case and back to the point, im smart enough not to endanger any one else because of my actions and responsible enough to know when the right time and place is. Too many people dont. The guy in question is obviously part of the latter. I wouldnt want to associate myself with anyone that irresponsible and least of all beacuse of people thinking i have the same level of intelligence and driving skill. So no use bragging bout how good you are means shit all on public roads it's bout luckThats my 2 and a half cents Im not bragging at all. I know what i know and understand what i understand, simple as that. You either know you have skill and talent because of your experiences and training or you kid yourself and others into thinking you do. there is no such thing as luck when it comes to driving. Luck is defined as " success or failure bought about by chance rather than through ones OWN ACTIONS." Since you are in control of the vehicle your own actions dictate what will or will not happen. I appreciate your 2 and 1/2 cents though. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/171306-advertiser-today/page/4/#findComment-3171736 Share on other sites

You have to think and anticipate that others will make the mistakes and then you will already be avoiding any future accidents subconsciously. Theres food for thought. m3gtr
Ya man it's like 3am who gives two f**ks mr GODFATHER of drift relax mate, cant take a joke? I'm not the God father of drift, but Tokyo is... or has everyone over there forgotten about that? no need to take it so personally, jeez. by the way, caught the drift competition off a torrent yesterday and man does australia have a long way to go to be at the standards Japan has set. Its going to be a while before Oz can say it has a top level competition in Drift. Sambo33
whats wrong with aussie drifters m3gtr? fair enough aus may not have the big name teams and the drift background that japan does. but from what ive seen there is no lack of standard in the local comps here! m3gtr
whats wrong with aussie drifters m3gtr? fair enough aus may not have the big name teams and the drift background that japan does. but from what ive seen there is no lack of standard in the local comps here! i think theres some talent but others have made valid points about there being no backing except for a few random sponsors and tyre companies. None of the big Japanese name tuning houses that most of the competitors use for parts are even interested and that speaks volumes. Theres no interest in the aussie scene over here. The guys that ive seen on the street would cream ( no offense ) the scene there in Oz...its a shame really that its still a very underestimated form of motorsport there... On top of that, some who will remain nameless at this point have come over here and severely damaged aussie rep in regards to drift and by and large motorsport in japan.. plus no on in their right minds would think of using a liberty for a serious drift car, or a R31 for that matter...as an example.. Sambo33
really examples like that are hearsay, without a head to head comparison how can you judge? its like me saying - the last time japanese D1 drivers did a demo at mallala they couldnt do anything that the aus drifters couldnt Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/171306-advertiser-today/page/4/#findComment-3172292 Share on other sites
m3gtr
lol just watch a option dvd then you see the skill difference.... or get rides with them as i and a friend of mine have done and youll experience it first hand... you cannot compare Japanese talent to australian talent...sorry if it offends but theres no one in oz that can compare. Not even the self proclaimed Godfather of drift... man Keiichi Tsuchiya laughed when i told him there was a guy with that title in Australia. Im TELLING you and I LIVE here... Ive been driving with some of them...im FROM adelaide!!! Take my word for it. If the sport is serious it needs a high profile lift to help discard the "backyard" image it has created for itself.. Drifting in Japan is an ACCEPTED part of society. In australia its for hoons and loons. Do yourself a favour if you dont believe the insight and experience of others.. come over here and see it for yourself.
