Those 225/50R16's didn't help much - next time i think i'll just use my regular street 17"s

we have video footage Gordo so we can confirm the time and let you know your 60ft and TS!

was a good day for cruising and socialising but the drags were a little a bit of a disappointment for me...track was too wet IMO...bastards used me asa guinea pig for the first run of lane 2

hehe.. cool - i am curious, because that is the better one :) even if it was dodge..

haha - dale the track guineapig.. i remember that when they chucked you there right in front of me thinking "he can't be too happy with that .. the first one in the slippy lane"

I got to see the "RH9" up close, nice car but the guys were a bit *on edge* I think... Not sticking up for them but they have invested a lot of money into their cars...

I was pissed off so many people were so close to my car - including a lot of non-sau people, I was just trying to cool the engine down before the first run and every con, vic and gary had to poke their fingers into the engine bay...i am already paranoid enough and I dont want my fcucking car scratched  let alone something damaged vindicatively...bah just left it at home next time :)

anyway, helmets are a real pain in the neck [no pun intended], cant feel the car and cant hear jack...then some rotor or 80's falco next to you doing burnouts at 130db just makes it easier - not!

as i said it was a good day, just not for drag racing

jet took some vided footage in-car during my chap laps, should be interesting...I think you are talking about my mate with the camera though INASNT ?

we got almost an hours worth and are chopping it up today...

jet himself probably got a fair bit in addition to this?

True i can understand that too. I guess when you get other guys who are running great times and and are more than happy to show thier car to you and tell you about it.

I think that's being PROUD of your car, wanting to show it off to everyone!

I agree with you ash, they could have been a lot nicer to fellow skyline enthusiasts...

I think the *pro's* take it all a bit too seriously and have lost sight of the fun of it, in their game of chasing numbers.

I would have had more fun with my car pefrorming *like it does on the street* but s*it happens I guess.

I am keen to go down to calder too but I know its very busy down there...they need to open up another drag strip i think

1/. You were all there (at the track) because I let you. We had booked the track months in advance for the whole weekend - it turns out that it was double booked, we were asked by Russell if we'd mind a test and tune running on Sunday as he didn't want to disappoint so many people. I said "no problem" - as long as we can run when we need to.

2/. Some smartass came in earlier in the day and started to snap photos whilst the engine bay was open - directly of what he was asked not to take - the cooling system. He is lucky he left with his head intact - because of him, everyone else was told to keep away. A plain case of one dickhead that we were nice to ruined it all for everyone.

3/. We were pissed off. It was going to rain, but we thought we would limit our runs to give other people a chance - so don't tell me we are assholes because we had forsaken our track time for most of you.

And you wonder why the hell you get treated like you do? I will never allow the car to run when others are at the track - end of story.

Mario.

I stood off to the side and had a conversation with one of the pit crew form Marios camp and he was very willing to talk to me about how things were going, I and some of the things that had happened over the weekend with the car (Track wise) I for one did not want to get in their way and dont believe they should be getting the flack that they are. If you have a read of Marios site you will understand what type of weekend they had.....

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
