lol i dunno where you guys get all this pathetic facts from but im from malaysia and i can say that products there are trustworthy - always depends on the shop you go to.

why wouldnt anyone expect the stuff to be shit if you head over to shit budget shops? just head over to recognised shops and you'll be able to get them at a bargain, certain things are definately cheaper there compared to here.

Hey guys...i was just wondering.. im going overseas to malaysia in a couple months....and i want to buy speakers now but im not sure if i should wait...what are the prices like over there and the quality of them? Thanks.

is it really worth the hassle I mean lets say you pick up some speakers at 50% less than what they cost here now you have to lug them around with you, they will take up luggage space or you have to go to the hassle of shipping them, then when you get them back to here you go to fit them and a tweeter doesnt work or the voice coil clips on the magnet, and there's a reason for them being so cheap in the first place (1) there cheap copy's (2) there manufacturer rejects (3) the store swapped some fried tweeters because they new you where taking them out of the country (4) there stolen

I would save my money and buy them from a reputible store where you have listened to them who have been around for a long time and offer better than manufacturer warranty ie will swap for new if you have an issue rather than waiting for weeks for the manufacturer to decide if he will warrant or not. you can hang *#!@ on me if you want but these are the cold hard facts.

You guys must have too much money :(

If you know your stuff about car audio and buy the correct gear you wont have issues. Doesnt matter where you get it from, as long as its not refurbished crap.

which most of it tends to be..

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
