Duncan
no expense? gtr will be quickest except maybe for drag. Ultimately the 4wd traction is worth more than the weight penalty. But in the real world with real budgets its not hard to get a gtst to keep up with a gtr, cheaper to get power out of a gtst and it is lighter in the first place. They have the same suspension setups/potential and can run nice big tyres for traction Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/174314-skyline-with-greatest-potential/#findComment-3199134 Share on other sites
Roy
Can you strip the car? How far can you go. Is it to be a daily driver? I would say R32 GTR. Cheapest. Has all the ticks for the building blocks of a good car. Strip as much weight out of it as possible. Carbon doors, keep alloy bonnet and guards. Throw a strong RB26 in there with a solid 380awkws from something like KHS 2530s running 1.5bar. Throw a strong 5spd with close ratios in it. Also beef up the transfer case Then wire up the R33 ATTESSA system/sensors/computer so that the thing has a little more smarts and controls the AWD system a bit better. Then throw some nice suspension at it, with some nice 355mm brakes on the front. That is the shopping list i have for an R32 GTR, but simply cant afford. It woudl cost a small fortune. But would run 10 secon qtr miles and if driven well would be a very quick track car. And if you keep the aircon and basic interior, and colour code all the carbon could still be used reasonable day to day as a road car. Duncan
not my area of expertise mate....but I can't help noticing there are no 4wd top fuel drag cars. And the quickest GTRs are in the 8s now. So either is proably sufficient Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/174314-skyline-with-greatest-potential/#findComment-3199159 Share on other sites
