Tried a search and all i can come up with is the sizes that people fit...

I have an R34 GTT.

I know they come with 17x7.5

What is the PCD on this model?

And what offset are the stock wheels and what can i fit up to?

I might get some deep dish if i can (not going to fit spacers...and do not want to make the rims stick out)

And also, what is the point in having wider rims at the back?

Just better grip?

Thx in advance~

I hope this helps?

PCD: 5 x 114.3

Standard R34 GT-T: offset +35 Size:17 x 7.5

IMO I have seen lots of 34's usually running the following:

Front: 17 x 8 +30 - +36 will sit just inside the guards nicely

Rear: 17 x 9 +32 - +38 will also fill the guards nicely

And the same can be repeated in 18's aswell without any problem

As far as if staggering wheel size providing more grip, for the most part it will have to do with the choice of tyre you use..

Phill

18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear is max. More rear grip from bigger rear tyres. This makes you more aware of the lack of front end grip. The R34 has quite neutral steering and you are messing with this but you kind of do anyway when you increase the power.

That's generally true, but it also depends on where the face of the wheel sits. Often you will find front wheels will have the face sit out further for brake clearance. All things the same though (same wheel, same face position, same width), lower offset will mean more dish.

can i fit 18x9 with an offset of 30 on all four corners?

and can someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the lower the offset, the more dish you have???

18 x 9 +30 would have the looks, but you'd definitely have to under tyre the front and/or roll your front guards :P

I currently run a 17 x 9 +20 all round on my R33 with only 235/45's and I have to roll all the guards, but as you can see I do have almost maximum dish ;)

Thats definitely true, as I have especially gone for a set of rims that were off a GTR or Z32 for maximum brake clearance or yo can custom order rims depending on application for extra $$$.

how the hell did you fit +20 offset on your car?

Are R32's different offsets to R34?

With tender care :P Thats my car black four door, though I'm on the hunt for a guard roller as even with stretched rubber they do rub a little. IMO I think it just helps to improve the look of car as I've never been a fan of the sunken look!

From what I've read all GTR's from factory are:

R32 GTR = 16 x 8 +30

R33 GTR = 17 x 9 +30

R34 GTR = 18 x 9 +30

Though R33 and R34's do have apparently more guard space and can fit even lower than +30> and still have no problems with clearance..

I haven't ever tried my rims on a 34 I am sure you will have a similar situation to me and also have the same width all round you may find a small amount of tramlining if you have the same size tyres. though that can be cured with wheel alignment and or run 225/235 front and 235/255 rear depending on the style your after?

Cheers

Phill

And I think you'll be fine they should sit nice and flush and you shouldn't have any guard clearance issues.

If you want to see 9" wheels on a gt-t just pm me and you can test fit mine?

Ill give you the short answer..

18X9.5 rear with +38 offset ... Yes you could also run 37 or 39 but 38 is right on the guard with 9.5" rim

Fronts I run 18x8.5 with +32 offset .. Yes people like to pump it out more but I picked such a lower offset because the stones and crap fly up the side of my black paint work when u turn ..

im thinking of going 18x8.5 and 18x.9.5 with +20 all round.

anyone have this on a r34? any guard work needed?

cheers luke

The offsets seem a bit too low.

if it's for a GTT

That would be pretty spot on. I ran 18x8.5 +30 and 18x9.5 +38 before and they were perfect. A bit of inner scrub on full lock on the drivers side inner plastic guard, I can live with tht...no rolling or lipping required.

Currently running 18x8.5 +35 and 18x9.5 +35 no guard mods needed.

Hi guys just need some help while on this topic.

Ill looking at buying 18inch wheels with 18x8.5+43 Rears 235x40 & 18x8+41 Fronts 225x40.

Will these offset fit my R34 gtt?

Would it clear the brakes?

Thanks guys

Yeah i might need a hand as well. I have some drift teks, 17 x 9.5, not sure what offset they are. Ive been told they will sit pretty much flush with the guards on my 34 GT-T with no rubbing?

Guest TR34GT

Guys,

I remember reading a past issue of High Performance Imports magazine about 3 years ago, when they were helpfull enough to list the full range of original and possible fitments of R32, R33 and R34 cars including GT, GTR, GTST and GTT.

I can remember one thing about that article.

R33's can fit a whole lot more rubber under the guards, if the guards are in the original state.

They listed 18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 rear, as the best possible fitment to use.

I've used 18 x 8.5 front and 18 x 9.5 rear before with 265s (rear) on an anniversary R33 I used to own, and the tyres wore away part of the Bilstein shocks upper flange on both sides. (scary that I didn't notice till almost too late)

The R34's optimum setup was supposed to be 18 x 8 front and 18 x 8.5 rear.

225's and 245s fitted?

If the car's lowered, forget all of the above!

Jim (TR34GT)

    • Yeah based on old XRC5964S specs, it looks to be roughly GTX3576R sized? But this 5964S compressor will flow 90lb airflow somewhat similar to the compressors in both the GTX3584RS or G35-1050.. I fully expected the 0.64 rear A/R to choke up top - seems way too small from typical convention - but these are seemingly beneficial over the prior 0.82 results.. Be interesting to see if he comments on the EFR question in that thread - he mentioned in a prior video that BW EFR's were the "cats pajamas 10 years ago", but by the sounds of things all his kits have been using Xona for quite a while now.
    • Yeah it’s still got the oem manual gearbox and clutch, only kinda mods are a blow off valve, coil overs, and a aftermarket intercooler. Also had it for about 2 months now with a lovely midnight purple paint on it.
    • Yeeeppp, been following a lot of the testing on the latest Xona stuff and there are some mental results.  He also went over 1000hp @ 4 hubs on his Mainline with a XRE6364S (63mm) which was also well into the 20psi range before 4000rpm on a 2.5. Crazy stuff. Fwiw the XRE5964S is basically the modern equivalent of their old HTA3582 - would drive nicely enough on an RB25 or 26, but proven capable of a huge amount of power if you want to spicy with rpm tho even at sane boost levels will make stout numbers
    • The axels in my R33 seem tired, and have a bit of play in them. I cannot find any new of course, not interested in buying used, but I am looking to see if anyone can identify some cross compatible axles. In the states I have seen suggested for S chassis the J30 axles, however for the skyline (as best I can tell) the lengths are about an inch off (2.5cm) on both sides. R33 my measure L 22" R 24.5" GPT L 22.5" 24.25" J30 L 23.5" 25.5"  so shaft length is probably an inch wider. Not sure if someone has another still remanufactured option besides the J30. I figured worst case I can buy a pair tear them down and swap the center shaft. My other option was reaching out to GSP to see if they cannot piece together a set, since the axle stubs are still manufactured, I wouldn't think it be that hard to find a shaft or make a shaft work.
    • Potentially some interesting data for some of you here; Hank Iroz from Iroz Motorsport testing a new Xona Rotor 5964S on a Audi RS3 2.5L DAZA motor. https://facebook.com/share/p/14EU18MyDqZ/ Cliff Notes: Turbo has the new Xona XRE compressor aero with an X4C compressor cover, reportedly 0.64 rear housing. 900whp (670kw) @ 37psi, 170k shaft speed, motor is making 2bar (29psi) boost by roughly 3800rpm, 500lbft (670nm) torque by 3500rpm. They overlaid a stock RS3 on USA 91 fuel (red), and a "Stage 2" RS3 on E85 (yellow), and this 5964S (blue) - the 5964S isn't losing any ground to either. Apparently out-flowing their prior tests with a Xona 8264S (green), and this 5964S (white) also has a smaller A/R than that did.
