Thanks...

nah on very bald and old set of nittos....but when i heat them up with a decent burnout they are super grippy...

the 1.911 launch i completely changed my technique....increased it from 3500 to 5500-6000rpm....tried the two stage clutch and it felt soooo much quicker....

i used to hit it pretty hard and thats why i could only launch at 3500 cause any more would just bag up off the line....

tried the new technique and didnt even get it perfect and smashed my 60ft time....

My car makes a bit over 200kw....maybe a lil more cause i increased boost a little bit.

dont know if the car gear is a waste of time....if its already at its optimum it will be $300+ wasted...

but practice is whats helping me the best....been just 2 weeks in a row and keeps getting quicker...

an update on my first 1/4 experience. think I was the only R34 there.

"consistent" disastrous 60ft time!

1, 4000rpm launch wheel spun all the way through first gear and most of second.

2.5 60ft, ET 14.3 @ 108mph

2, 2500rpm launch (had a chat with Ben and was suggested to try with lower revs) bogged down big time

2.6 60ft ET 14.1 @ 109mph

3, best of the night 6000rpm launch, clutch back in as soon as I felt spin and then out (dont know what exactly happend happend all too quickly)

2.6 60ft ET 13.7 @ 111mph

had to go to the city afterwards so only had 3 runs, but highly doubt i would have improved on the time had i stayed. conclusion was that it was an exciting first drag experience and I have no idea how to launch this car! :D

now can anyone explain the 2rismo 2 staged launch techique (I would pay you to learn it :D )

Forged: was your car the Silver r34 gtt?

2.5-2.6 60ft is SHOCKING,

How much power does the dyno say your car makes? 111mph is quite high

What brand/size rubber you running on the rear?

Did you try lowering the tyre pressure for the rear tyres and attempt to do a decent burnout to heat em up?

Usually for someone with those 60fts, what you should of tried is just a normal take off (as you would do on the street) and i reckon you would of gotten better times, then trying to launch it at this rev or that rev because the tyres weren't up to the task. It happened with one of the guys in an r33 gtst he was trying this and that and his BEST run of the night was when he just drive it off the line as per normal as if he was on the street :D

yeah the silver one was mine. i saw a few white 33s there but didnt get the chance to talk. which car were you in?

it makes a bit over 250kw on the dyno so i was expecting much better times. obviously something wrong with my technique.

tyres are bridgestone s03n 255/17 at the rear. i lowered them to 24psi but did not do any burnouts been told they(burnouts) are ineffective with street tyres.

ive tried a normal take off which was my second run, launched with 2500rpm (as what Ben told me to try) it bogged down intially then as soon as it hits 4000-4500rpm (full boost) wheel spin began again until second gear :D

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
    • Ah coolant overflow, previous discussions make way more sense now lol.
    • ok. Yea, then I would need to remove the turbo and weld an adapter on to it instead, if I fuc* this one up.
