haha I did Ray I did! :pirate:

But I was hungry...

I was suffering axel tramp so bad, best was 2.3 (my best ever when standard springs/shocks/clutch was 1.9) I even slipped the clutch out on one run as carefully as possible, and as it came out, went up in axel tramp again as I got onthe gas, so was on and off trying to control it (excuses excuses... :) )

tyres - dunlop sp9000 - 225/50/16 (brand new)

pressure was around 22psi

Yeah was good meeting you to Chris, always nice to put names to faces .havn't looked to see where the oil was leaking from as yet but wasn't leaking when I got home and oil pressure was still good so bit of a mystery but I'll find it and be out there again to get that pb.Was happy with my first run of 12.5 though after so long.Putting pineapples in fixed my axle tramp problem in the drag position

Axle tramp bad ,it's where your tyre's bounce up and down when you launch it of the line and feels like the car is falling apart, you either have to power through it, which is hard to do as first instinct is to back off or back of and give it to it again either way you loose time

Axel tramp....heard this expression before but can someone explain it?

Chris what time did u end up getting?

your wheels are turning at different speeds cause it to do what leg said... just power through it! Mine used to do it too... didn't do anything to fix it, it just sorted itself out!

Oil Problem found, pumping oil out the rockers into the air box never had a problem with the old standard oil pump but the N1 pump must be pumping a lot more oil around the engine .Only loseing oil on the low side breather not the high side so will have to put a restrictor in that side

    • Ha, I've never pressed the X in all these years incase it removed the notification for all Admins
    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
