Winton Sprints - Sat 28 July - Club C/ships Rnd 5

Recommended Posts

Still hadn't recieved a reply from the WRX club yesterday so I'm out. Thanks for the offer Ray but I might wait. I'll try contacting cams to get a clarification on the rules. The way they word it in the cams manual is very vague. Missing this also gives me a little extra spare cash for the NWS excusion if I can get the time off.

Good luck everybody!

Anyone travelling down Sat morning?

yar i'm going up saturday morning, need to leave so early :)

There are a few options, even as mooabque suggested you can use ratchet straps, but they are quite bulky and unsightly.

Go to your local Bunnings and grab some braided lineds with PVC sheathing. Its basically what ppl have on their clothes line so maybe downa few cans, grab some wire snips and flog some off your neighbour.

Then you just need a shackle to connect the two loops, and a few clamps so that when you loop it around the radiator support etc you can faster then two ends together. I normally have a few spare lyign around, but my kiity was raided at the recent Sandown and PI rounds, and unfortunately im under the pump at work this week so wont be able to arrange one for you, But its not complicated, its pretty simple. Just remember you iell need some bolt cutters to vcut the 6mm braid to the required length

6mm line on your washing line :) thats pretty big :(

Hey Scotsman wanna be my most excellent instructor again? Still gonna be on street tyres though :) unless someone wants to loan me some semi's i'll repay you with much beer! :P

My entry is in!

Yeah Kyle i'll be there, so can jump in with you and hand out some tips if you like.

Bris - I know you are not driving, but are you still gonna come up for some DT and beers?

RE Customs Represent!!! I'll be there testing out my new suspension. Ray should (hopefully) also be there with his new & improved weapon of choice  RWD modified class will hopefully be alot of fun this round

I wonder if Dane will be in for this round??

Nope

Good luck!

Will be up for DT, Tony is doing DT. Bloody lowly awd puss :)

Wont be up for beers though. I need to arrange a lift for Sat morning and a lift back sat night as i need to work over the weekend

Roy ill be heading up Sat morning and driving back (*touch wood) on Saturday, so if you havnt already organised anything thats an option for you..

Im also taking part in the DT, so anyone who wants to show me what the deal is at Winton would be great.. im driving a 33 gtst.

Any idea on travel time from from eastern suburbs to Winton?

Shoot me a PM with your number and we will get things sorted. If you are doing DT then maybe shoot the likes of Snowman, JAGR33, Belsil80 etc etc a PM and see if they are available to help

Hey all,

Dont know who has sorted out themselves with who for DT, but i need an instructor if anyway wants to put there hand up to help me? Otherwise do we just work it out in the morning?

All good Cam. Just make yourself known on the morning and ask for Troy, Andrew or Chris and we will get you sorted.

Im thinking about coming out...but im not sure what my friends will say :stupid:

Shizer. Was keen to see your car finished. Did you have enough sugar to carry out the task at hand?

Yeah ran out of sugar....oh well, I guess business comes first then my joy.

Should get it all sorted for Sandown, and Im expecting you get your Shizer sorted too.

, and Im expecting you get your Shizer sorted too.

..lol, buts its just as much fun and so much cheaper to down a few cans and jump on line and dribble sh1t

But bring on Sandown...i have my new calipers but rotors wont be here in time. But will have new suspension which hopefully means it wont be trying to bludgeon me to death  So with chassis sorted a bit more boost and up to 260rwkws we will see if i can get it lower the the my PB

But fark banged up R32s..your car is so neat, i cant wait to see the latest mods. Who cares about times...your car is damn quick and so neat to boot. Im such a fanboy of your car  . And who would dney me with pics like this

REMINDER to get your entry in, if you havent already done so.

Also a note from the man who takes the entries:

Don't leave it to the last minute.

The reason I say this is that I will be leaving on the Friday afternoon so any fax's sent after 2:00pm Friday 27th will not be recieved. You can still enter, but it means you will have to phone me first to check on numbers and then bring the forms with you.

As an additional service you could possibly call me on my mobile 0419 337 460 if you have any queries or problems relating to an entry.

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
