that's what I'm talking about Paul

but there's two sides to it

either people pay the full cost for the event, or they participate in fund-raising events in the hope to bring down the sporting events costs

and last time someone suggested a show'n'shine I was pretty sure they got bagged fairly heavily (rice issue and all that)

obviously there are other ways, eg what importscene did/are doing with sausage sizzles, raffles etc etc ... only they got heavily bagged as well ...

but the point is people are going to have to be willing to put up with those things, if they want to participate in the events at a competitive price (shold they want to do it regularly)

enough squabling please

when the info packs arrive I'll post a meeting thread.

first off it will only be an information session so those who come will know where we stand and what work needs to be done, the costs involved and have input into any decissions made on the day or night.

after this we will be able to either go forward with the club or stay as we are.

the forum and the club will be seperate entities but as mentioned will be used the main way of cummunicating with all members.

although i don't know all the details but from the looks and the fiew questions I asked them they are going to be in some difficulties with the tax man.

Jules,

It's true that many of the traditional fund-raising activities are scoffed at, but there are a number of non-ricey ways to raise money.

Rather than debating about it in here though we may aswell wait for a formal meeting so everyone can have there input.

I agree with Adam, the $60-$70 establisment fee should be paid by all, and some kind of member fee should be incorporated.  This will both generate funds and give the members a firmer (and more democratic) foundation; instead of another entity solely funding and therefore allowing themselves a 'levy' at any point in time

if u read the original threads regarding the club, you'll find this the way this will be structured.

if we again fall short on members to raise the money needed to get the club of the ground and business donate money these businesses will be repayed these donations once memberships are large enough to allow it.

You guys seem to have a different idea of how sponsor ship works. As I see it sponsorship would allow members to get discounts at the businesses and the businesses the right to have there name included on any event hold.

but all this will need to be discussed

Count me in for a club...

I have a suggestion. Why can't we have a 'board' of members instead of a president? Majority rules on decisions. Of course most decisions should be done via member votes at meetings so that those who want show and shines will be able to have their say as will those who want to do motorkana's etc....

Sponsership is a good thing in my opinion and something that is needed to get this club up and running. Both parties benefit from it as as Steve has said SST or Per4manz won't be represented in the club it will be Steve and Grant as fellow Skyline enthusiasts...

Any night of the week or weekend is good for me as long as I have a bit of notice.

hmmm

maybe I do then

As I'm just reading stuff about making dyno runs more expensive from the sponsors..? :D

Anyway when a date is organised will bring everything, felt necessary, up as there seems to be a large amount of ambiguity

this is EXACTLY what we should be avoiding

by getting caught up with politics we forget what this club is all about. soon someone will be elected president, then the bitching will start and well forget that one day there was just a group of guys/girls with a common interest who enjoyed the odd cruise, meet, mc day etc

There only seems to be one person bitching Adam, and I'm not sure why. I can't see this being a huge political issue, members will vote on a group of fellow members who they want to make decisions on there behalf, hardly anything sinister about that is there?

Brett, I'm sure it would be a board of members, but I think someone needs to head the board, doens't mean there decision is anymore important, majority rules.

Steve, It's called healthy debate, and not whoring. All of these issues will be dealt with at a meeting which will be posted in due course, until then there isn't anything wrong with sharing peoples opinions is there?

The sponsor businesses will have advertising rights only.

Every thing that happens is voted on by members.

If you don't like something vote against it, That easy.

This had to start somewhere and we made the offer and when

its up and running we will have a club house. SST( and any other sponsor) will have no power over the club, It can be put in the club constitution.

im not trying to bitch just provide the other side of the argument.

this is a big move to make and its important that we include everyone who is a part of SAU otherwise we may spoil a good thing.

im not really a fan of the president and committe thing though, although understand that it may be essential also... by making someone 'in charge' of SAU goes against the main premise upon which SAU was first established.

basically i dont agree with the hierarchy thing - can this be avoided? or do we need a club president, board etc etc

feed back and suggest a day.If you are not interested don't reply

on this thread but use the other thread please."

I suggest a profitable fundraising activity..... everytime you post you dontate $1 to the club then we will be inundated with funds

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
