A few months ago i posted my thoughts on buying a NA skyline due to P Plate Laws.

Many people went against this decision saying it takes the fun out of owning a skyline.

well i love it, its still the fastest car i have ever driven (much quicker then mums v6 magna)

and i can say to myself "i own a skyline"

mods are: tinted windows, lowered, After market rims, Exhaust tip to increase sound & nismo front spoiler.

I live in Kew in Melbourne so i will hopefully start to see you all around (im still on my L's)

NA FTW

nice to have you on board Daniel. a nice clean car you go there; loving the avs (i think) rims. they definitely suit the car.

and yes you're right, at the end of the day owning a skyline isn't about owning a "turbo", it's about enjoying a car that looks good, handles better, and goes better than the average car on the street.

use this opportunity to learn the dynamics of the car, get a feel of how it handles, learn to control a rwd vehicle and just simply have fun. having an n/a doesn't mean you're slow, it just means you have to work that much harder to gain those extra few seconds.

any questions you have about your car, i'm sure many of us would be willing to answer them. be sure to search before hand in case your question has been brought up before.

cheers

edit: and while i agree that the search for power is addictive, keep in mind there's more to driving than just outright power; most wouldn't know how to get the most out of their 400rwkw gtst anyway. suspension, braking and driver skill also come into play

Congratulations mate!

my first car was a 94 R33 GTS. Was a great car and now im upgrading to a turbo. N/As are great for fuel and insurance purposes in comparison to the turbo versions (as stated above). And if i had a turbo for my first car i am positive i would have crashed it. So (as stated above) dont let people talk to you down about it. If turbo drivers give you shit about driving an N/A tell them your replacement parts cost a shitload less then theirs.

sweet ride bro i have a mate who lives around kew so he will definatly see you going around i bought my first skyline approx 5 months ago no and it NA n i love it i have a thread in th eNA section which is still active so cheak it out, anyhow, i had problem with my engine (my own fault) n now i putting the DET in so yeaha the mod bug and the need for speed takes over pretty quick! but welcome to SAU

Hame

thanks everyone. i cant wait to start getting to know everyone during meets & cruises.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
