seems to me it is set up to negate the leaning off of cyl 5 and 6 at high boost pressures. Being a stock item it's not up to copeing with aftermarket big turbos etc.

Hmmmm! does this mean that a properly set up aftermarket regulator should actually replace the one at the rear of the rail, not just tack on in line after the front one.???

So the firewall regulator lets fuel in to the fuel rail and the front fuel regulator holds fuel back to create the fuel pressure so to speak.

I don't understand why you would need to regulate the fuel coming in to the fuel rail. I would have thought only regulating the fuel leaving the fuel rail would be sufficient.

yeah i agree, unless it's a fail safe, so that in the event of the fuel reg at the exit of the rail failing to release enough pressure, the one on the entry will stop excessive fuel rail pressure, which may otherwise be able to overcome the o-ring seals on the injectors.

Ok this should clear things up a bit. Seires 1 r32's have one fuel reg on the fuel rail . Series II r32's have an extra one on the other side of the fuel rail.

I been trying to work out why this is so . All i can come up with is that it allows more precise regulation of the fuel pressure.

And every r32 i have seen come into work all have a broken vacuum hose going to the second reg. Its a common thing. The hose just gets brittle with age.

Also the second reg doesnt work on vacuum like the primary one. only seems to read positive pressure.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
