So what this mod would do is simply keep the bov from opening which allows for no boost leaking from the BOV.
this mod will just stop it from leaking which will make the car feel stronger.

Shift Lock there's your explanation for your seat of the pants improvement.

Thats the reason why it feels like it's running more boost.

exactly. i highly doubt that a stock bov will be leaking out 7psi of boost (dropping it from 14 to 7). if it was the car would run like absolute arse, cause it would be dumping massive amounts of fuel through. you would use a tank of fuel every 150kms.

why would it run rich, thats the entire idea of a recirc bov, the air even if it was leaking goes back into the plumbing before turbo but after the air flow meter, so its not likes its measured twice or anything.

because the pressure is equalised on each side of the bov diaphragm thanks to the rubber hose that connects to the plenum I can't see why it would be open in normal use anyway, regardless of spring tension.

maybe this guy meant the wastegate actuator, not the bov?

how much more of a moron does this guy want to look like?

"crushing" the stock bov is an old/crude way of allowing it to "HOLD" more boost.

Mitsubishi 4G owners have been doing this for years.

and that is because they have the same bov..

have you noticed that your bov has 3 diamonds on it?

it didn't "increase" the boost... what you are feeling in your well calibrated arse dyno is how your car would have driven when brand spankers.

Another way to do the same thing is to remove the bov completely.

no bov means no leak.

another way again is to take off the stock bov and seal the "small" hole on the underside of it.

NOW..

it's been one day, and you should have installed yyour boost gauge.

why don't you come back on here now and "LIE" to us about how your car is making 14psi uleh and that everything else is stock and that your "NISMO" mate was right.

then we can point out that 14psi on stock r33 would not work because of this that and the other.

I'm going to go get something to eat so I can eat while I laugh at you..

nice first thread.

maybe this guy meant the wastegate actuator, not the bov?

Highly doubt it. He knows what a HKS SSQV is and said he'd use one he bought if he broke the stock bov.

but doing it to the actuator would open the wastegate earlier rather than later. if you squashed it too far you would actually open the wastegate slightly.

What if you squashed the back of the actuator where the spring is to compress it, wouldn't that work? Highly bodge job though.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
