Yeah mine has the factory locations was just wondering how difficult it was to get all that removed... i think when i do the speakers in the doors im going to pull off both mirrors and check for rust... seems to be a common thing, i don't really want my doors rotting off.

A little off subject but is there a Stagea Audio install thread on here?? If not i might fire one up

Yep, we've created a DIY section with stuff borrowed from the Skyline DIY sections where it's the same between the cars, and specific threads for our cars.

The stereo DIY is here...

Hmmm a guard role might be a good option. helps with the tyres for one and two will make it look a little more curved instead of straight like it is now...

What kinda cost are we talking about for a guard roll job like seen on yokotas13's??

Is there a real risk of paint cracking etc if the job is not done just right? really don't wanna be repainting stuff

i own a 260 with 34 gtr rims and have 285's all round the only rubbing i get is on full lockk and it actually rubs on the inside of the wheel

285's!! thats crazy talk they can't be that fat?

a heat gun for 25.00

and went to town

Coool! might be a goa :P ill consider it, im in the process of doing all my audio stuff first so when the wheels come closer to summer ill look into it again.

Thanks for all the input tho guys its been great!

235 40?.....45? I think I've got 235 45's on mine: the tyres have that really stretched thing going on, because the rear rims are very borderline as to wheter they sit outside the guards or not. I'll check when I'm back in Qld again: mid-week. I even managed to get them engineered, as Qld law states thet the tyre must sit in he guards: they never said anything about the rim..... For the record, they do scrape with 4 people on board, but only a little, and I'm running SK's suspension package...

I'll get back to you about tyre size in the week....

Sorry man! Forgot I was getting back to you: so much crap going on right now!

Tyre size is 235/40

Apologies for tardiness!

Some work! must be a considerable ammount of work.

What you getting done?

Well so this doesnt turn into a novel, basically forged internals, over sized pistons, crank has been balanced and stroke matched, block has been acid dipped and crack tested, using head studs now, tomei sump and rocker cover baffles, tomei metal gaskets, hks style manifolds, GT2860R turbos, full replacement ecu to cover the basics. Waiting on the turbos to arrive, the motor is being assembled as we speak with all new bearings and gaskets etc. Still about 3 weeks off turn key id say, then i have the agonising task of running it in! I get the feeling im gona be driving along way the first weekend i get it back to get some power dialed in asap!

you should easily eclipse that figure. I make 300awkw on standard internals, running N1s. Yours will be rather impressive, I should think  Very nice...

with all the internals that your are doing are you upgrading the injectors, FPR and fuel pump? Bigger turbos? If you are you should be making well over 350kw@4wheels. And i hope that you got a 4" exhaust to match that as well. if not that will be your lomotation.

Hey guys, im being a lil conservative in the power figures possibly, but that way im not disappointed if it doesnt roll higher! lol! At this stage i havent done injectors or fpr, thats why im thinking the figures i am. The exhaust is already done though with hks style manifolds, 4 inch split dump pipes, 3.5inch stainless system with high flow cat into twin cannons on the rear, so should be able to handle the flow. I"ll definitely keep you updated when its finally back together and run in though!

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
