well....they can just be *super* tight.

Firstly....put the main nut back on a couple of turns - otherwise when you do get it off you will smack yourself in the head with the wheel...hard...

Then you need to loosen it off the central spline - rock it back and forward from either side of the wheel (left/right or top/bottom), maybe encourage it with a hammer (hit the rim lightly)

If all else fails there are "pullers" designed to get wheels off, in this case you need abig one but that can be expensive for somethign you only need to do once
