Hmm, I really want to put the original HID setup back like when it came from Japan, I still have to look behind the bumper to check what's there. I can see the balast units for my fog lights but thats it.

That is a pretty easy job if you have right tools.

Just need to take off the head light and do a little modification that will be OK.

nice car man!!!

how much does the carbon intake pipe cost you? I'm looking for one from US ebay, but cost too much.

do you feel any performance gain with plenum spacer?

Hi mate:

Very interesting in your Fog light set.

Would mind let me know:

Whether it is just the Grill kit or the whole new bumper?

How much does it cost?

What kind of bulb does it apply?

Thanks

Hi there!

It's and added kit I'm pretty sure, but must have been done originally as was already there, so not sure on cost either.

I do know they are HID bulbs and there are balast units behind the bumper, also looks like a wire on each side that has been cut and taped up.

I'm yet to pull it all appart and see what's going on in there.

Will let you know for sure once I know :nyaanyaa:

THIS IS MINE.

HEAD HLIGHT JOB NOT FINISHED YET, NEW BULB ON TH WAY.

VERY VERY COMMON SILVER

How do you compare the 07 lights versus the 03 lights? are they any better? I could imagine them being a little worse off due to the small projector?

Thanks

Jai

ten times better, much more brighter, (with OEM philips bulb), much better cutoff line,

it is a be-xeon light, which means both HI and LOW beam share the same HID bulb, very useful.

the parking light has been move from side to the downstair area, with a small bulb,

you can easily install another HID fog light there,(that is what I am doing).

I personal hightly recommandand this upgarde, only cost about $400,

Headlight : $250 (including shipping from US)

Turing & Parking light: Philips silver vision $70 -------------- That is to expensive, I should looking for some cheaper thing.

H1 HID fog--$100, shipping from HongKong, crap stuff, but very cheap.

man, i think just a little bit better than old headlights. or maybe i upgraded to 6000k bulbs?

I only think projector looks beautiful and give it a clean look.

btw, did u get second hand or brand new?

Ok just for your interest. Prices arent trade prices btw.

December 05 and onward Headlight Assembly is $1942+GST from Nissan for EACH headlight, including globes and wiring (no ballast resistor pack however)

Headlight body and Lense (no globes or wiring etc) is $1030ea + GST

Part No: 26025CM41A for the RHS and 26075CM41A for the LHS

Tail lights are a similar story if you want to upgrade to the nicer 06/07 model (looks so much hornier than 03!) They are $443+GST for the body and lense. you have to put in your own LEDs from you existing lights.

Part No: 26554CM41A for the RHS and 26559CM41A for the LHS

Frank, can you advise if we need to modify the wiring in any way, or is it simply plug and play? Same headlight globe size etc?

Thanks!

Jai

no modification on any wiring. simply plug and play. The ballast and bulbs are the same.

It took me an hour for headlights swap and remove bumper off and on, .

Why spend $3k, as Frank said , he got his headlights for $250 shipped each, surely even after you've got all the bits and pieces you are still well under that $3k mark and they look like they are in decent condition.

I'm thinking of doing the same, but I have a 6000k HID kit I bought ages ago for my other car and never used them. They are H4 which had the high and low beams in the one bulb. Don't know if and how it will fit in but I'm going to be assessing it all soon.

^_^, mine are second hand, I believe it is from a write off G35, that is why it only cost me AUD$250 a pair (shipped) include the bulbs.

As you said, the 6000K HID bulbs from philips only has a output of 2800 LM. the 4300k OEM 85122+ has 3200LM.

But the upgrade you did is considered to be the best choise----the best balance between color temperature and output.

It also maybe my old bulbs already 4 years old( Jun 2003-- Aug 2007), the new unit is only 8 months?????

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
