Im not 100% on the exact rule but I have known people to get defected for vents etc on the bonnet or guards. A guy in a pulsar ET had a flush mounted vent in the bonnet and was defected because 'it was dangerous to pedestrians'.

All GTiR's should be defected no?

If it's not standard then yes u will get defected.

now on gaurds and bonnets.

If a idiot was to walk into your path of motion and u were to run them down would the vents in ur wanted bonnet slice them up or throw them over the roof?

Basically wat Mr & Mrs po po are saying is will it screw the pedestrian up more if u were to hit them or not.

Be careful of wat you buy.

You will most likely get defected for your bonnet more then your front gaurds.

Ring them up and find out, Best way to do it, instead of asking random people on here!

Maybe we should sticky Regency's phone number somewhere, so when threads like this are made every month, people can just use and find out direct!

seriously what do u ask if u ring regency? do they kno what ur talking about exactly our what?

I was led to believe that anything affecting the vehicles impact charecteristics and physics was deemed defectable by regency, IE altering your reinforcement bar to fit an Intercooler, or changing your bonnet to a carbon fibre one. I think fibreglass or hardened plastic is accepted though because it wont harm the pedestrian as much as steel to the head or carbon fibre wedged in the mid torso.

i think you'll find most of the time when getting pulled over by the popo its because they notice something on your car that looks 'defectable'. Most of the time you won't even get defected for the reason they pulled you over in the first place!

What i'm trying to say is that even though the vented bonnet and the widened guards may or may not be defectable it will still give the cops a reason to pull you over, don't give them a reason to pull u over!

They wont pull you over for the sake of "its a skyline" unless you do something or they are just an old c**t with nothing better to do than harrass anyway.

i never said they'd pull u over just cause u have a skyline, i said they'd be more likely to pull u over if your skyline had things like vented bonnet and widened guards, all up to u i guess!

    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
    • Yeah I've had too many issues with knock off's on the BMW's. I don't want to do a job twice or more because the parts are shit.
    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
