hi guys, about the end of the year i will be looking at a new car. as the R31 is abit anoying to drive on long trips.

so what im after is a car that get's from a-b and is comfterble to drive while still being fun to drive. price max $15000

i have had some idears.

r32 gtst

r33 gtst

180sx

supra non tubro.

i would like another skyline and am leaning to the 32 over the 33 as 33's are so common, however the 32's are getting.

the 180 has being of intrest but same as the 33 is done a duzone.

which leave's me with the supra. i have always had a soft spot for the supras since TFTF. and a non turbo would be good as fuel cost will be down on a turbo. (i do have a heavy right foot). and they are generly good regards relibilty.

so what are you guys thinking, if you have had exsperance driveing any of these car would be good.

alos no BS answer's like get this echo and s#$!.

I'd go the 32gts-t. Even though N\A Supras are fairly quick for what they are, you will regret it after a few months when you want boost. Everyone I know with an N\A is saving for a turbo conversion lol.

Well I think there are really only two options and everyone has posted attest's to that. R33 and 180sx are out, you don't even like them and they are common... but r33 gts-t would be the quickest, but thats only good if you only care about which is fastest to start with.

So that leaves supra and 32. The supra can look very nice with the right kit, rims and paint - but a lot of them have hideous kits, ugly rims and faded poo paint. If you found a clean one for around $15k I would seriously consider it.... only annoying thing is non-turbo... I would worry about getting a bit over it. And then the 32. With that budget and some time you will be able to find a nice clean late model example and it has potential to go faster too without much money... Either supra or 32 would be a good choice in my opinion

R32 all the way! :)

PM me if your want to import a car, my cousin imports. I will do my best to get you a good price.

He imported my R32 for me, its in my signature.

Plus Supra is 3L twin cam, and you will give it heaps as its slow, so it will use a lot of fuel Plus there fkn heavy, built like a tank lol. It wont be as good on fuel as everyone thinks it will be..

On the other hand if you get an R32, 2L Turbo, if you drive it off boost you will get very good fuel economy.. better than a Supra!

Thanks,

Abu

you cant have power without fuel consumption so it depends on what you are looking for power or looks

im not so much worryed about looks or power, as i dont plan to mod this car (maby one or to mods) as i will manly use the car to drive between wagga wagga and melbourne (4h one way trip on the hume).

looks like i will be considering a r32 gts-t or the supra.

and yes im not a fan of turbo's,

pffffffft stuff R33, I think I have seen enough to last me a life-time.

Either R32 or a Supra would be mint, two hot looking cars.

You would get some good fuel economy driving the R32 off boost down the high way for long trips, such as Wagga Wagga to Melbourne..

My cousin will be able to find you a mint R32, exactly what you want and in your price range. Once your ready with the $ let me know, I will forward on your details.

Or a NA Supra for that matter, if you want to wear a skirt..

Thanks,

Abu

Well if your definitely sure your not chasing any extra power the N\A Supra might be the go. They are a very comfortable and reliable cruiser. Only cons are limited boot space and a smaller backseat than a R32 or Silvia.

the reason you see so many 33's round is because they are a really nice car that go very well for the money paid for em! 180s and 32s are great fun cars to drive but are both getting to be an old car, therefor and harder to find neat examples! have u thought bout other options like a series 4 or 5 mazda rx7?

    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
