talk to ya later all, catch, oh and heard about your box bk, sorry to hear it man would have been awesome to see it run

Nice man. I'm in the stage of saving up for Straight cut synchro. 1st-2nd Straight cut, 3rd-4th Helical which is pretty much driving a stock box, but alot stronger gears.

Hey bk, is that your new GTR-32 with 560kws at the wheels? Cause you said you broke the 1000hp skyline gbox... I aint starting anything, but doesnt 560kws only make 750hp....? You know. 560kw x 1.34 = 750.4

Yes, it's a monster ! Handles well with the Tein coilovers but fuel system is maxed out. Will make over 600kw @ wheels once upgraded from 800cc to 1000cc items. Gotta learn to drag it yet before that - it's whole different world to anything else I've been in at this power level. It's just crazy when upped, but it's still very streetable. Changed my opinion on big single turbo gtr's for sure.

No I said the 1000hp car broke the 800hp rated os giken 5 speed cross mission box. Also yeah you're right. That's 750 AT THE WHEELS - not engine. GTR's lose a minimum of 25% from the engine to the wheels mate, with most figures closer to 30% or more. Wrx's lose at least 30% to the wheels. A stock 160 -170 kw WRX at engine will barely pull 95 - 100kw @ wheels. My point being the difference between brake power (at the engine) and chassis dyno power (at the wheels). So you see now that 750 hp at the wheels is actually at least 1000hp at the engine (1000 engine hp minus 25% = 750 wheel hp). Same with commodores. The 300 kw VY GTS pulled around 205 kw @ wheels from factory. All cars have SOME form of driveline loss. A quoted 240kw XR6 turbo does not put 240 kw to the wheels if that's what you're thinking.

No no no, i wasnt hinting at that as your wrong or talking shit. I was just seeing if that was on low or high boost and ect. Nothing like that mate haha. All's good  . I think its spastic you have a 1000hp skyline man. Just sucks complete utter donkey balls it broke on you on the run. I was just seeing if that was a low boost figure and what not. I didnt explane myself right. My bad. I got figures mixed up. Didnt mean to start anything lol.

Yeah man. Its sweet as. I forgot to mention, i heard it was 1000hp at the wheels. Thats prolly why i got things mixed up you know. 750hp is a bit of 1000hp which is what i was told you had at the wheels, not your engine. I dont know didly squat about yours except its mental and g-boxless at the mo  lol. Nothing bad or me starting anything dude.

You better be back out next meet. I was crook and at home last meet just gone and didnt even get too see it.

Would have to agree with BK & Rexlr8. I have driven the car at about 70% and it has ALOT!!! more power than mine. It is easy to see it has had around $100k spent on it in the last few years. The previous owner John has owned some of the quickest GTRs in Australia and was one of the first into the 10s then 9s. Tilbrook Dyno in Adelaide could easily verify all power figures.

1st photo is street trim. 2-4 are wearing Mickey Thompson Street Radials at the drags on sunday. Next meeting the V8s in the picture will get caned.

Have got a dodgy camera vid that might make it to Youtube with the Datto & Hypactv vids my brother has already loaded.

Yeah, i was not arguing or saying that bk's car is crap or anything. I was just going on what i heard, which was he had the 1000hp at the wheels ( Which is a f**king monster in my mind ) And when you do the adding up of 560kw's only makes 750hp so its a bit of a distance between that and 1000. I had no idea that it was at his engine which made the 1000hp mark. In a way, its prolly a compliment towards bk that i thought it had that much power at the wheels.

So wasnt sure if he was hiding the real power or had some type of low/high boost lol.

End of this topic/ semi-argument over nothing. NEXT!!

Who's going out tonight, tomorrow? Saturday? Whats happning for the weekend?

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
