took it for a couple of drives around the 'test track' over the weekend....its a totally different car at the same power level as the low-mounts. Its going to be a very quick car down the 1/4 as im sure it would run faster even now...im sure i could have it in the 9.60-9.70 bracket without too much trouble. Another 200KW is going to have me very busy behind the wheel keeping it in the lane and off the walls. I was actually a bit short of a word after a very spirited session on Saturday afternoon...which is very out of character.

if i run it over 140MPH ill lose my 'get out of gaol free' card and ill have to rock up next time with the parachute. Ill save it for Compak...even though Mark said he would send his chute down for me to use. He's confident if i can keep it in the groove a very low 9 is possible. Two runs below 9.1 will get me the National record and a 9.44 will have me jump up to 4th in the HPI drag records list.

well why dont u stop fluffing about and put the damn parachute on, hell i'll send mine down if you want.

the parachute rule is a wank and dates back to when cars had drum front brakes...id like to run without one to be honest...and ill put one on only when they make me.

well you know that lovely feeling when your seeds cop one...the one that travels up your groin towards your hip...i had that for 3 days solid...morphine tablets were my best friend. All good now...im only on 3 types of medication now including 6 hourly double doses of Panadine Forte. Im able to properly stand and walk not looking like someone has clouted me in the jewels.

If you are dropping 4 Panadeine forte at a time, frequently, you liver will suffer some pretty serious damage. It is often permanent, best bet is going back for some endone, that is what they gave me for the wrist(in a cast), or even just codeine to take with the P.F. to strengthen it up!

Take care and good luck with the record attempt's!

The car is entered for Compak Attak next Sunday at WSID. Setting up suspension tomorrow as its still set-up for circuit as our circuit car borrowed all the suspension for Superlap last year. Ride height needs to be raised and camber, castor and toe settings need to be changed. Mark will be flying down next Friday night to tune it in Sydney on Saturday and ive ordered a special brew for the tuning at $13.25 a litre it sure is pricey as its leaded it cops a heavy carbon tax. Ouch.

He's confident of an output around 850+whp without too much trouble.

9.44 is the target ET. but if i leave the track with a PB thats a success as far as im concerned as i havent raced the car for 11 months and will have 200whp more. It sure will be a handfull.

There will be some competition for you Paul at the Sport Compact next weekend, JUN r32 from CRD should be there.

:(

Rob's car should run faster than mine. He's got all the little problems ironed out in the car and its now super quick. But due to his car being a non ANDRA log booked and tech'd car id say his day will be over in 1 run. He is racing Devlish as well so at least he has a back-up car to run. All that aside i should be the slowest car in the Modified Compact Class but due to 12 entrants at least ill be able to qualify for the eliminators...then its DYO handicapped...they will have to try and run me down.

Im doing a few pump fuel shakedown runs on friday night if i can get on the entrant list (entry's have closed but i may be able to run if someone pulls out). Its been 11 months since ive raced and i think a few passes on lower power to see if its running straight would be good.

EDIT: ive just looked for Rob's name on the entry list and neither car is listed as entered. Entries close in 45mins. Get onto it Rob.

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
