hi

so far the only gold rims i have found are these three, and i have tryed about 10 websites! most wheel retailers dont have gold wheels and I'm running out of places to look. So does any one know a place that sells some gold rims, even a couple?

thanks

(sorry about my annoying questions.... I'm new :D

Dude first of all whats your location.Have you tried tempe tyres or ozzy tyres.

And i think i've seen one of those rims at bob jane t mart.

I'm in Canberra, but I go down to Sydney every month or so, so my options are pretty much canberra or sydney stores.

thanks for those two stores ( dunno why i didnt think of them myself, there is an ozzy tyre's near me actually...)

but another stupid question, can you put 19" wheels on skylines, or are they to heavy? if you can does it look good? or they look two big for the car.

thanks

If you got a 33 they look good but ride will be a bit rough.

I would stick with 18"s.

that makes sense, 18" it is then. So what do you think of what I'm doing. Gonna be getting a black paint job on the r33, then couple it with some gold rims, sound good? or do I have crapp taste :D

Try to get Jap wheels. Don't go for those 7" wide rims. If you want gold, you can get some Rays Engineering GTC's or even Work P1's for example.

Depending what you're planning to do with your car, try to get 18's. 17's look a bit small on the 33's in my opinion.

umm no offense but crap taste in wheels  If you're willing to spend on a nice paint job...budget for around 2.5k for nice set of 2nd hand jap wheels. Gold GTCs ftw! and stick with 18s too.

Is this the GTC everyone loves so much? why spend so much on wheels from jap, when there are wheels from Aus half the price and look pretty decent to...

Besides from quality whats so special about the jap wheels, its not like the wheels from Aus are going to fall apart after 6 months is it?

and thanks for all the help so far,

Why?

Because of quality, look and exclusivity.

Also, wheels from Australia are not actually from Australia but rather China/Taiwan/Phillipines where there is little or no quality/safety standards when making wheels.

There have been cases of these wheels falling apart during hard driving!

Also these wheels just copy the Japanese designs. Which would you rather have? The real deal or the wannabe?

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
