its wired up to the brake lights but i chose to wire it up with the wires that would light up when i turn on the lights and not when i brake.. am i making sense here? i dont know how to put it in a shorter and less confusing sentence...

i sprayed the garnish to fit the car color (but it doesnt :D ) , cos the garnish is clear and the leds would be too bright, i put some masking tape over the letters, was planning to peel em out after i sprayed the garnish, but when i fitted it on b4 peeling the tape out, it looked good enough. had that 'embossed' look. so was happy leaving the masking tape on ;) ..

about the color, anyone know where i can get the exact colors for touch up in a spray can? color is gmg..

I bought my touch up paint from 3d paint, give them the colour code from under your bonnet and they have the mixture in their system as long as it is an original colour.

Can you buy the series one fascia that you need anyone? im really keen to do this :D

I rang a jap wreckers in brisbane cost me 50bucks posted to CQ, 60 dollars for leds(30'000; brightest i could find) bout 60cents for resistors. and 40 for paints so far.

Heres mine so far, except the gap between the top and main part has been filled with sickaflex and painted....only problem im having is painting around the letters, its sorta mounding from the letter to the back part on a 45degree angle sorta and not squaring off?¿? if ya can understand what im trying to say.

I painted mine black everywhere bar the letters, then gone white everywhere, so it looks like a normal series 2 during day. shines through well enough i believe.

DR D00F, thats really cool. Do they flash or something? Or fade? Is that ur car? What happened 2 ur plates?

They go red on brakes... I'm thinking about making either a flashing blue one for shows to go with the neons on the car (programmable) or to make it flash a number of different colours, or just ultra violet  Haven't quite decided... all will cost me about $280 to $300...

Im surprised there's no easy way to get this done thru ebay or something.

I want mine to light up!

There is an easy way :) either through me or MLT15E (also on the forums) but I have yet to actually sell one cause people get scared at the price :bunny:

Ppl have to understand that they are not cheap to make. Ive been making mine since August last year, i want it to be perfect :D (paintings the problem)

Some bloke wanted to buy the original green off a mate for $900, apparently he couldnt work out how to get it off at the time ??? have you got a photo of the circuitry for a special one, do you use a lot of LEDs on one board or just the one colour?

yeah it's not some backyard job... I get my painting done at a proffesional spray painters...

Depends what you mean by special really... I don't know if I have made a special one just yet... been busy in life and stuffs, hopefully one will get made in the next few months after I move (again) :)

How much are you selling these for mate? Interested

I read somewhere once you could buy a new original one through nissan for around 600?????

Well that makes mine cheap as! :P

$350 for everything, $50 less if you can get a good series 1 (clear) facia to me :)

did mine recently, looks mad as!

Piccies?! :D

yeh? thats not to bad i guess. Are yours LED or EL sheeting?

and if they are LED, the individual lights dont stick out like dog balls do they?

Cheers.

It does a bit actually! :D

Sorry I didn't see this before...

Nah that's not my car, it's on Cassbo's car :( That one is fairly ordinary, doesn't do much... I'll be working on a strobing, flashing, controllable one soon, but it will take a LOT of time (I might have some of that soon! :P) and quite a bit of money...

EDIT: Turns out I did see this before and already answered it :D

LED, and no, as you can see they are pretty evenly spread...

Hey

Would you make a couple and sell in a group buy?

I would be quite interested in a either red led or blue led background.

Can u make it for a Series 2 R33? ;)

i think i read further back in the thread that you cant do it for a series 2 r33?

Correct me if im wrong, otherwise id certainly do mine as well :)

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
