Some a little more than others

Aye aye ayeeeeeeeee *wink wink nudge nudge*

:laughing-smiley-014:

ahhh I fail..

ahahaha... you coming onto me Nic?

i'd just like to see this part of the forum kick off. a lot of people seem to have this notion that you need a turbo to own a skyline.

yeah ive certaintly gotton that a lot. so when r u turboing ur car.......................im not! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehehehehe

im so over people telling me to put a turbo on my car...................its not gonna happen!!!

you'd be surprised how many people are like "your car looks so cool" and when i tell them its n/a they kinda lose interest.....quite sad really

Yea well it's kicked off a fair bit in numbers since I can remember joining.

But It's just so difficult without a market to support the N/A

If they made super-charger kits, or hell even twin charger kits for the n/a that would be mint.. but meh.. Costs for something like that in terms of fabrication/mechanical without such a market is just too much. So there's only so much we can talk about before money plays a big factor.

Seeing as it's only been 2 years or so since the non turbo laws came in for NSW anyway, and some states soon to follow the trend. I think the N/A section can only continue to grow.

Also there's something for anyone mechanically minded to think about.. I know there's a big following for turbos in aus, but that also goes for N/A's whether it's v8's 6's or 4's.. If someone were to go into making different kits (Exhausts /superchargers/ high compression bits n pieces etc) for these cars locally I'm sure they could promote the growth. Not many people like paying over the internet to receive a part that's a couple thousand K's away meh..

And while we're on the topic of N/A's.. I think I'm selling my car soon (No, I'm not over skylines) I just want to go overseas and need the cash

Rest assured though, when I get back etc and get some more money, I'll be back in the game. Not sure what I'll be after though, I appreciate a wide range of cars so who knows what I'll get.

yeah it is sad to actually see how shallow everyone is.

well everyone knows when you have a turbo you instantly become schumacher. no excuses when you get beaten by one though!

Just like to say first point i love that 34 looks hot congrats Cara, and sorry for keeping on with the side thred

Secondly when i first started getting into cars and imports and skylines i was all turbos blah blah na's are gay, n i had a mate who had an na and everyone at uni used to give him shit about it,

But then my car died and it came time for me to look for a new car and i loved skylines i was still a year and a half or so away from getting my full licence, and i live in an area swarming with traffic cops so i wanted something leagal and i loved skylines so i went and bought an na, It totaly changed my thoughts about the whole thing, coming from a v6 bit r missin to the na 33 was a huge jump, skyline out preformed in every way and i think if i had a turbo i would been more up-mself and prob totaled it with-in no time. I have way more respect for the actual cars themselves and what everone does with them now then i ever would have otherwise.

On a side note i know here in Vic in the last 2 years i have seen a huge increase in na skylines all over the place, and i have been talking with a few importing places and 1 place in particular told me they now bring in more na's then they do turbos. With a large number of p platers being a huge buyer market for skylines and all the new strickter and harsher rules Na's are going to grow and grow and so will this forum and the wealth of knowledge.

ps Cara you got any interia pics? is it stock inside or does it match the rest of the car??

N/A's are cool, cheaper on fuel, not many problems, no huge maintaince. i get the same thing when i tell people my car aint turbo, but the 4wd makes up for it around corners. im just gonna focus on handling and breaking aswell as some audio.

she is pretty much stock at the moment when it somes to the interior side of things, but in would like to go full leather interior one day..............ooooooooooo leather...................

owning a GT-V, I have people telling me to 'drop the turbo motor in it, you already have everything else turbo spec' but thats not what I want for my car. I don't want my car to be a money pit plus I love the fact that I average over 600K's to a tank.

can't agree more with you luke, especially an NA R34. I also have the same focus for my car as you.

Reggie.

what annoys me the most was at adelaide autosalon i went in the dyno comp...............she pulled out a nice 120 kW at the wheels, which i was happy with cause i really only did it for fun, but what annoyed me the most was the fact that they didnt have a N/A 6 cyclinder dyno comp trophy, due to there "not being enough interest" and i questioned them by saying but what about the new p plate laws in nsw/vic.............still not enough interest i got told.......... so i ended up being put in the turbo class............that shited me off big time.......especially when a 3.5 L magna bet me by 2 kW's and they wouldnt even let me re-run despite letting all the "high kW turbo cars" re running twice or even three times.

shame on that. i will show them big time............just wait............ :)

NAH!.. if its one thing I will never do.. its leather interior..

Its cold in winter.. so you heat up the car.. then you get all sweaty and sticky.. and gross.. and leather dosnt breathe.. so end up sweating weight off

And in summer.. its worse.. no matter what you do.. you will just sweat in a leather seat.. and get all gross..

not a good look..

    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
