Ok guys I have an update I got NRMA out to look at the car , it has fuel but no spark at all, tried swapping the green relays next to the ecu still no spark. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing no spark? NRMA guy said either my alarm system or ignitor module.

Hey mate sorry to hear about the incident.

But anyways, I'm in no way mechanically minded or anything (so if this seems as a ludacris suggestion meh what ya gonna do...), but something similar happened to a mate's car..... after an oil change hahahah. He would turn the key, hear the fuel line pumping, but then the engine would just keep cranking with no sparks. After hours and hours of trying to figure out what was the problem it turned out that the wires giving current to the spark plugs (don't know what they are called) were knocked ever so slightly so that it wasn't sitting on properly but seemed as if it was.

Now I don't know if your problem is as simple as this, but I guess its worth a try to see if that wire is somehow burnt or something.

Have you confirmed power is being supplied to the coils? Power is feed via the ignition coil relay (one of the green relays near the ECU) to the coil packs. Disconnect one of the coil packs and check for a 12V feed when the key is switched to the "on" position. If no feed is present you will need to check the source of the supply.

The relay is feed power from the thick white wire with purple stripe. You can check the power feed easily at the connector near the power steering reservoir. Turn the key to the "on" position and you should have 12V at this wire. While you are at it, check for 12V at the white wire with black stripe (feeds ECCS relay which then feeds power to CAS, MAF etc).

Once you have done this let us know how you go.

Ok guys I have some great news to report, tried my mates ignition module from his GTR and boom it started first go, put my old one back in just to make sure that was the problem and it wouldnt start so it was the ignition module :w00t:

Car is running like a bit of a pig tho keeps wanting to stall at idle or when you come to a stop but im guessing this could be because it has had the same fuel in it for 4 months and has been drivin less then 50km since June.

DONT connect your battery around the wrong way!

What have you been driving in the meantime, while all this nerve racking shite was going on?

Ive been riding in style on the bus for the last 4 months because I lost my licence for 6 months :) (Still got 2 months 9 days to go)

thing that pisses me off so much is that if I didnt lose my licence the battery wouldnt of went flat from the car sitting their so long so I wouldnt of taken it out then connected it again the wrong way.

Ah well lesson has definately been learnt.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.   
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.

    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
