Please Ban the next person that asks questions about the power they got from a dyno run/tune.

the arguements about how much power it made stock or, this dyno is happy and this one is sad is getting as bad as the f*king missfire at 4500rpm on boosted R33 uleh, or flutters bro type threads.

DYNO results have the following important information.

Boost v RPM graph - to see what RPM the boost gets to max set boost level and if it stays stable etc.

A:F ratio v RPM graph - to see if it's lean or rich and at what rev range.

torque v RPM graph - to see what revs the max torque is produced to work out what revs to change at to drop back in to the meaty part of the torque curve.

how many times have people said "a dyno is a tuning tool"

never sinks in.

the forum is flooded by morons going "I only got 180rwkw with 12psi and others got 200rwkw on same psi"

BAN BAN BAN!!!

You're always gunna have people less experienced than yourself asking apparent silly questions.

Part of life and this forum...and the learning experience

i plead not guilty to the above but have asked dumb stuff in the past.

I think a 'Ban' is a bit exsessive.

Just don't read it.

Every question must look a bit stupid to someone like Nismoid31 or SydneyKid but the still have the patience to give advice or point them in the right direction.

Have a beer and put your feet up

Take a deeeep breath, count to 10.....(1..2...3...) ahhh, thats better

It's not the noobs.

it's people that have already been here and have read it all.

it's not the noobs that say "I have a stock skyline, can I get a tune"

that's a fair noob question.

but comparing dyno figures... and lets admit it, there is a whole shit load of it that goes on here.

BAN.

No warning.

they go to refresh, BANG.. "you have been banned for life you f*king clown." message appears.

Seat of the Pantaloons dyno figure is just as acurate as a dyno power figure.

it doesn't mean anything anyway.

And this children, is how to have a rant. Please pay particular attention 1) controlled use of swearing in order to maximize it's effect, 2) Use of fact's to back the initial argument/premise of the rant and 3) general reference to external threads at which the rant is aimed.

If you are having a rant, do it properly.

Nice work GTST

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
