I have the HKS Silent Hi-Power, it is not silent. Hate to think what the non-silent model sounds like. Has a nice rumble and sounds amazing at high revs but would be around the 100-110dB mark for sure

X2.

Interestingly enough, when i ordered my HKS from Nengun a year or two back, i was tossing up between the Trust PE2 or the HKS Hi-Power Silent. The photo they have listed for the HKS shows the exhaust with a center muffler. At the time they were similarly priced, and IMO looked identical so chose HKS for no apparent reason.

But as we both know, it comes with a straight pipe with im gonna go for an "illusion" of a resonator slightly bulging in the mid pipe, and the cannon on the rear. It was louder than i expected it to be but i was expecting a center muffler too.

It can be a tad droney on the highways at times, but if you keep it at a steady rpm it more or less goes silent.

When i listen to Lith's one side by side with mine and go for a drive i might keep my eye out for a Trust item to replace it with. But i do like that bark.... :ermm:

Theres nothing quite like winding down the windows in a narrow tunnel and listening to that RB roar at full boost!

We'll definitely sort that out - possibly sooner rather than later as it seems the reliable daily driver (my second one in just over 6 months) seems it may have decided to carnage itself so Moby will AGAIN be relegated to daily driver duties. If thats the case, I'll be down in Welly sooner rather than later to get woman.

With the mixture of turbo whistle and PE2 sweetness the Skyline would go down a treat in a tunnel. Hell a road with building on either side is pretty awesome :P

i have the same looking exhaust as MINTR33. a twin pipe looking thing from the cat back. mine however had 3 hotdogs, JASMA muffler with DTM tips. must say i hate the look of the tips :P

exhaust looks great from the rear and have numerous comments about it. sounds quiet enough to me. if anything i would want it a bit louder. might remove 2 hotdogs :ermm:

will be taking it down to my exhaust shop soon to remove the DTM tips and replace with 2 3 or (if i cna fit) 3.5 inch tips. if i have enough cash might remove hotdogs and see how it sounds :D

pics up soon

veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery dirty!!! was on car in this condition when i bought it! wouldnt mind doing something to clean it up including the insides. any ideas??

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
