HI5! We rock!

seriously though, it shits me when a car has the same colour plates then the car... it shows a complete lack of creativity... it can be hard to read if your running from the cops though...

Hey Heysey,

Sorry - old post but want to say congrats!

I too went from a Skyline (R33 gts-t ser2) to an Audi S4 :(

Done any more mods yet??

I got a little carried away with mine.. Was just about to upgrade turbos but instead had to move overseas for work and thus sell!!

I'm sure you have done a fair bit of research but to give you a better indication.. With just a chip (Giac tho) and cat back exhaust (which almost went the whole way up the car) managed a 13.003 and 1.8s 60ft (first time out to WSID, heavy 19's and a seriously slipping clutch!) Power wise was more like 250 kw's - running 1.55 bar of boost too (would hit 1.55 by about 2250 rpm)

Things you must change - Throttle body boot, BOV's (get rid of the plastic stockies) and you will prob go through a couple of AFM's even with the stock airbox..

Some recommendations:

- C/O's, Sway bars and semi slicks make the thing stick like s%$t to a blanket!!!

- Go Giac chip...

- Get a manual boost control (to smoothen boost from fluctuating)

- Go exhaust from turbo back (lots of work involved tho)

- Upgrading turbos is the way to go (but expect about 10k+ and then some)

- Upgrade you I/C's to RS4 units.. Much better flow and much better cooling

If you haven't spoken to Nils (Milka) on the audi forum already.. I suggest you do.. The amount of times I went to his place for help on little things haha

Ohh one more thing.. I very highly recommend upgrading the centre diff to the Stassis centre diff (for the S4) it sends about 20% more power to the rears and helps a huge amount on reducing understeer and more oversteer - which is needed on this car!!!

Well ive finally stopped driving it long enough to take some pics.... and after having it just over a week now im totally in love... i never knew a car could be so good out of the factory....

as one of my mates put it, this car is over engineered! it hits full boost by 1800rpm, no need for a hard launch, it does 0-100 in 5.5, even less with a chip... the recaros are beautiful, soo comfortable, havent been sore or restless at all, the standard bose sound system is great, the car handles so well i cant think quick enough to keep up with it yet, so throwable into corners, tad of understeer then hard on the gas and the car just sticks and pulls... the dash is soo nice to look at, white on red... just beautiful!

can throw 5 people in the car, still be comfortable, and the car still feels bolted to the road, safe, secure, and farken quick...

ill get it chipped shortly, as the chip improves the performance so much its like bolting a highflow into a stock rb25... just mental!

ill tint it, maybe a subtle exhaust for better breathing, chip, and just polish the body back up to immaculate..

really i couldnt be happier, ive had my fun in the skyline, ill get one to drift in a couple of years... and ill still float around here...

now for the pics!

Hey mate,

hows the os thing going? didnt you sell your S4 before you left?

Ive just stuck a full turbos back exhaust on her, 3.5" dumps to 2.5" split piping all the way back, the power increase is pretty nice and it wants to rev its tits off all the time now! i cant believe the difference its made! but fark it was a pain in the ass to install!!!! ...as for a chip ive been leaning towards GIAC now heard better things about them...

Ive done the TBB, threw an upgraded stock one in there while i waited for the samco one to come so ive even got a spare! ill probs stick 710Ns in just as a precautionary measure..

Coilovers are definately on the cards, just tossing up how much i want to spend etc, im thinking H&R ones from the states going for $1200 ish..

sways are in order!

semi slicks.. hmmm

i want to make it handle a bit better, dont have the cash to blow on turbos just yet! she does have 120km on it so they will prob go in the next year or so, then ill get serious on the engine work and make her an animal! with the ICs, ive almost been tossing up a front mount kit...

havent spoken to Nils yet but i will shortly...

ill post some updated pics with the tints and the awesome detail that was done on her makes it look alot better.. now for some B6 S4 rims or BBS Ch and coilovers :D

yours looked tidy as.. how many kms on it?

Andrew.... lucky mum cant drive manual or she might like my car too much!!!

Yeah going very well!! Tax is fantastic over here, only one problem for me..... I miss cars soooooooooooooo much!!

haha good to see you are doing research before jumping into things..

Will pm you from ozaudi about a couple of things :P

When I bought it I only had like 45k's on it (but that was many years ago now)..

Talk soon

    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
