I'm not sure how your rating is compared to here in canada.. but I use 87 octane in my Daily driver non turbo GTS and 94 in my GTS-4..

we only have 87, 89, 91, and 94 at the pumps here.. 100 octane in japan = about 95 here in canada.. so 94 is the best we can do..

but the N/A doesn't need the higher octane gas.

You guys follow the US octane rating system, we follow the British octane rating system, and the japanese have their own.

so our 98 octane = your 94 = japanese 100.

Oh hectic you're Canadian :D I didn't think anyone outside Oz or NZ would be interested in SAU! This is like, a moment for me...Skylines have brought us all together lol. You guys have right-hand drive? Or you drive like Americans? :)

Aaahhh sounds like Canada has pretty crappy petrol/gas. I thought we had it bad compared to Japan, but you have only 94-5 octane? Does the car (albeit an N/A) run ok?

They've still got the 15 year rule, so they get all the old stuff... atm as far as skylines are concerned they only get R32's... its wierd... canada's like the land of R32's now.
There's quite a few visitors from the UK and US too. He would have a right hand drive car, skylines were only made for the Japs as far as I know.
technically no, japan, australia and the british (conveniently all RHD countries)... those were the only countries to sell them new. Well NZ as well, but they don't have a local automotive industry, so they don't count. But yeah, it is RHD... which is kinda JDM tyte yo over there because they get all the US LHD cars.

Yeah use the BP ultimate, cleaner and better for your skyline, if you dont you'll notice it just doesnt rev right. Definetely get it detailed but watch your spear wheel and jack, detailers sometimes leave them out of the car when they are finished.

Get it serviced as was said above. But before you go on a long trip, just check oil level and have a peek at the coolant reservior and check the level of the coolant, it will most likely be filled with a green liquid. (sorry if you knew all this).

Other than that, have fun

You got any pics of the car?

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
