Haha that's crazy. Did you hear about the 32 GTR test drive in Qld or NSW? It was someone off here I think... they let this dude take it for a spin, it was massively modded but the test driver booted it down some freeway in 3rd, clipped the curb and rolled it.

How would that go down in insurance!! Hmmm...

As a side note, I do take it very easy when driving anyone elses car, but hearing that from someone selling a car was pretty funny

So.....did ya fang it round the corner then? :P :P

Talking about thrashing, anyone got any Moana beach stories to share? All you southerners will know what I'm talking about!

The beach where people can legally drive on 24/7!! Hooray to the 3am Cressida thrashings on the beach! Bogged it twice

Last year a drunk 16 year old girl on her L's rolled her car on the beach! They left it there and the tide took it.

After I made sure he wasn't joking, yeah clutched 2nd. He was right too, it was uncannily smooth for a sil with just coilovers, an exhaust and a locked diff

Put a deposit down on it that day, but my mate f**ked me over with my Chaser so i never got the sil

I grew up down Moana before the esplanade was narrowed.

Had umm geat fun. Silver sands was a better wider more side ways beach. :D

Not sure how old you are but back in 1996-97ish people used to lay oil down the dip and drop burnout after burnout.

Funniest I had seen was when the police came through understeered in to the round about.

Blew my first diff down there too. First in to second and then weaved it out of the car park, up around the round about did a u-turn and came back. As I approached the dip I heard this click and good bye diff.

Limped the car home said to the old man.. The diff made a click I think its the brakes lol. Straight away he said.. Your changing that diff your self and that was the beginning of getting my hands dirty and modifying cars.

Another was some old cressida blue thing dropped a burnout at the diff; axle tramping and bang the tail shaft drops on the ground lmao.

and another.. gemini dropping a burnout understeering kept holding it down in to a sign post.

Lol that's hilarious. Yeah I'm only 20, but have grown up near the beach. My mates have burst a few tyres on the beach, and I bogged a 323 there once, oh and a few of my mates got pulled over by the cops when leaving the beach as now the residents around the beach have joined some anti-beach-hooning group!

And there's alot more police patrols cruising the area now, too.

I remember hearing about that ay! That would suck :D i don't reckon i'd ever take my car down on the beach...even if it is a lil shitbox haha.

So many of my mates who don't have a clue about cars are like "take the GTR on the beach! Awesome!"

And I'm like "Sand and salt in my front mount! Awesome!"

Hahaha i have actually seen a dumped as 180sx down at Moana before. I pointed and laughed at him :D

Yeah I reckon I remember that spot. Like a small groove in the road with countless skids coming out of either side :D

On the esplanade directly in front of the now little multi coloured units and deli.

Always been HEAPS of police down there even back in 96. The locals would always call the police. Constant patrols checking every ones number plates and random inspections/defects.

Back then there was a lot more cars out. Night after the drags were on were a good show as it was down anzacs and the car park at the end of anzacs.

Good ol LJ's slightly crabbing down the road tubbed with huge tyres etc. lol

You know you could just get the hose, then bring it over to mine and I will do the pads, rotors and hose for free and you can pocket the cash :(

Nah don't pocket the cash.. Buy her a nice present. Then You'll be set for a REALLY DECENT weekend. :P

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
